Production method for light-emitting device
A fluorescent material-containing sealing resin (20) production method of the present invention includes: a kneading step of kneading a powder mixture (24), which has been obtained by mixing a powder of silicone resins (21) and a powder of fluorescent materials (22) together, while melting the powder mixture (24) by heat, so that a kneaded mixture (25) is obtained; and an extruding step of extruding the kneaded mixture (25) in a form of a cord from an output port (37b) of a twin screw extruder (37).
Extruder screw shaft alignment apparatus and method
Puck and collar alignment device embodiments facilitate simultaneous insertion of free end portions of screw shafts into open end portions of complementary drive couplings. The embodiments have alignment keys that correct deviations in alignment and rotation introduced while moving the screw shafts though a barrel of an extruder. Tapered front faces of the alignment keys incrementally adjust coaxial alignment, and tapered side faces of the alignment keys incrementally adjust rotational position cooperatively between the alignment devices and drive couplings. The coaxial and rotational position adjustments cooperate to simultaneously guide multiple alignment keys to fit within corresponding keyway sections while providing alignment of external splines on the screw shafts to interlock in a timed relationship with internal splines on the drive couplings during the simultaneous insertion.
Chemical-resistant films in high optical quality
The present invention relates to a process for producing transparent polymeric films or plastics moldings of particularly high chemical resistance, having more particularly a very good resistance towards oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions, and of high optical quality.
Apparatus for the pretreatment and subsequent conveying, plastification, or agglomeration of plastics
The invention relates to an apparatus for the pretreatment and subsequent conveying or plastification of plastics, with a container with a mixing and/or comminution implement that is rotatable around an axis of rotation, wherein, in a side wall, an aperture is formed, through which the plastics material can be removed, a multiscrew conveyor being provided, with at least two screws rotating in a housing, wherein the imaginary continuation of the longitudinal axis of the conveyor in a direction opposite to the direction of conveying passes the axis of rotation, where, on the outflow side, there is an offset distance between the longitudinal axis of the screw closest to the container, on the outflow side, and the radius that is parallel to the longitudinal axis, and in that the screws co-rotate.
Apparatus and process for producing products from pigment-containing polymer mixtures
The invention relates to an apparatus and a process for producing pigment-containing, in particular carbon-black-containing, polymer mixtures comprising polycarbonates and optionally elastomers, and/or other components, where the mouldings produced therefrom have, after the shaping process via injection moulding or via extrusion, improved surface properties and improved mechanical properties.
Process for preparing dynamically vulcanized alloys
This invention relates to the preparation of a dynamically vulcanized alloy comprising at least one elastomer and at least one thermoplastic resin. More specifically, the process produces dynamically vulcanized alloys with unique morphological features which have good impermeability and low temperature flexibility. In the process, the thermoplastic resin is added into the extruder in two stages with an intermediate addition of a compatibilizer. Also during the final addition of thermoplastic resin, the elastomeric curatives are added to the extruder.
Process for preparing dynamically vulcanized alloys
This invention relates to the preparation of a dynamically vulcanized alloy comprising at least one elastomer and at least one thermoplastic resin, having a G at 1% strain and 100 C. as determined according to ASTM D7605 of about 4,500 to about 7,500 kPa.
Continuous celluloid twin screw extrusion process
The present disclosure relates to a continuous extrusion process for producing a celluloid article including several steps and a celluloid article prepared by the continuous extrusion process.
