A microcatheter system is disclosed which may include a microcatheter, one or more microcatheter extensions, and/or a microcatheter hub. In an embodiment, the microcatheter has a plurality of zones where the outside diameter of each zone from the distal to the proximal end has an outside diameter that is the same as or greater than the previous zone while the inside diameter is constant throughout the microcatheter length. In a further embodiment, a unique joining mechanism is employed for coupling a microcatheter to a microcatheter extension or to a microcatheter hub. In a further embodiment, the microcatheter has at least one perforation along a sidewall of the microcatheter.

A microcatheter system is disclosed which includes a microcatheter body and a microcatheter extension and/or a microcatheter hub. The microcatheter body includes a plurality of distal zones and a proximal zone. The outside diameter of each of the distal zones is progressively greater than an immediately adjacent and more distal zone. The outside diameter of the proximal zone has an outer diameter at a distal end thereof that is at least as great as the outer diameter of any zone of the plurality of distal zones and increases from the distal end to a proximal end of the distal zone. The inside diameter is constant throughout the microcatheter system. An internal connection assembly comprising a probe and a receptacle join adjacent parts of the microcatheter system.

A connector which is detachably connected to a cylindrical section is prevented from unintentionally disconnecting and breaking. The connector has inner and outer cylinder members. The inner cylinder member has an engagement plate protruding from the inner peripheral surface of an inner cylinder body and engaging with a recess formed in the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical section, and also has slits arranged radially and extending from the engagement plate to a part of the inner cylinder body. The engagement between the recess and the engagement plate restricts the axial movement of the inner cylinder member relative to the cylindrical section. When the outer cylinder member is mounted on the inner cylinder member, the inner peripheral surface of the outer cylinder member is in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder member, and the displacement of the engagement plate in the diameter expansion direction is restricted.

Catheter cartridge assemblies and methods of using the same for intermittent catheterization

A catheter cartridge assembly includes a cartridge and a catheter member. The cartridge has a cartridge housing with proximal and distal ends. A pre-loaded tip and a protective sleeve associated with the pre-loaded tip are at least partially positioned within the cartridge housing. The catheter member has a proximal end configured to be advanced proximally into and through the cartridge housing to engage a distal end of the pre-loaded tip for proximal advancement out of the proximal end of the cartridge housing with the pre-loaded tip, with the protective sleeve covering at least a portion of the catheter member.

Ventricular cuff

In one general aspect, an implant includes a cuff defining an opening configured to receive a cannula coupled to a heart pump. The implant includes a coupling mechanism having a first position and a second position, the cuff being uncoupled from the cannula in the first position and the coupling mechanism coupling the cuff to the cannula in the second position. The implant includes a locking mechanism configured to secure the coupling mechanism in the second position, and the locking mechanism is configured to be moved to a locked position after the coupling mechanism is in the second position.
