CONTROL OF A LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL BASED ON AN ENGINE TORQUE
20200282829 · 2020-09-10 ·

A limited slip differential (LSD) is mounted on a driven axle of a vehicle to drive left and right wheels. To control the LSD, a current input torque applied to the LSD is determined and a predicted engine torque is determined based on an accelerator control position. A current average speed of the left and right wheels is also determined. A preload is applied to the LSD. The preload is determined based on the predicted engine torque and to the current average speed of the left and right wheels.

Multipurpose vehicle

A multipurpose vehicle includes an engine that has a plurality of cylinders, a traveling vehicle body that has a traveling device that is driven based on a driving force of the engine, a man-operable accelerator operating tool, a controller that controls a fuel injection quantity with respect to the plurality of cylinders of the engine based on an amount of operation of the accelerator operating tool, and a vehicle speed sensor that detects a traveling speed of the traveling vehicle body. If the traveling speed of the traveling vehicle body reaches or exceeds a set maximum traveling speed, the controller suppresses the fuel injection quantity supplied with respect only to one/some of the plurality of cylinders, irrespective of the amount of operation of the accelerator operating tool.

Vehicle

A vehicle includes an engine, a front frame, a rear frame, an intermediate frame, a front propeller shaft, a rear propeller shaft, and a brake. A pair of right and left front lower arms are swingably mounted to the front frame. A pair of right and left rear lower arms are swingably mounted to the rear frame. The intermediate frame is located between the front frame and the rear frame. The front propeller shaft extends forward from the engine and the rear propeller shaft extends rearward from the engine. The brake is located outside the engine in the front-rear direction and within a region defined by the intermediate frame and brakes a rotation of the front propeller shaft.

CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION

A vehicle may include a continuously variable transmission which requires non-recycled air. The continuously variable transmission may provide non-recycled air to a first number of sheaves of the continuously variable transmission with a second number of air supply conduits, the second number being less than the first number. A cover of the continuously variable transmission may have a unitary body.

All-wheel drive-vehicle controller

An all-wheel-drive-vehicle controller includes: a drive gear coupled to a driving source; a driven gear meshed with the drive gear and coupled to main and sub driving-wheel axle shafts transmitting torques to main and sub driving wheels, respectively; a transfer clutch interposed between the driven gear and the sub-driving-wheel axle shaft and adjusting the torque transmitted to the sub driving wheel; a first determination unit determining whether a first condition in which a torque applied to the drive gear is substantially zero is satisfied; a second determination unit determining whether a second condition in which hydraulic pressure is applied to the transfer clutch and a torque applied to the driven gear is substantially zero is satisfied; and a control unit controlling a torque adjuster to adjust the torque applied to either one of the drive gear and the driven gear if the first and second conditions are satisfied.

Off-highway recreational vehicle

A vehicle configuration wherein the center of mass of the vehicle is approximately superimposed upon the passenger and driver centers of mass when seated within the vehicle. An occupant's center of mass can be approximated using a standard center of mass position approximation, or a combination of any number of standard center of mass position approximations. The vehicle's center of mass can be approximately superimposed upon the occupant's center of mass in at least the longitudinal and vertical directions.

Power transmission apparatus for vehicle and power transmission system for vehicle

A power transmission apparatus for vehicle, incorporated in a vehicle equipped with a transmission, includes a forward-reverse switching mechanism with start function produced by adding a function of a vehicle start clutch to the forward-reverse switching mechanism. Additionally, a power transmission system for vehicle includes an internal combustion engine that is a power source for vehicle driving, the transmission, a torsional vibration damper that transmits torque of the internal combustion engine to the transmission, and the forward-reverse switching mechanism with start function of the power transmission apparatus for vehicle. The forward-reverse switching mechanism with start function is disposed between the transmission, and the internal combustion engine and the torsional vibration damper.

OFF-HIGHWAY RECREATIONAL VEHICLE

A recreational off-highway vehicle includes side-by-side passenger and driver seats held within a chassis that is approximately 50 inches wide. The seats sit low in the chassis and are covered by a roll cage. Grab handles are positioned on the sides of the passenger seat. Select large round tubing protects the vehicle, while rectangular tubing frames the portions of the vehicle beneath body panels. The vehicle is powered by an engine rearward of the seats that is connected to a transaxle. The engine and transaxle are isolation mounted together with a portion of the air intake assembly. The vehicle is suited for rough terrain travel.

[Technical problem] To provide a power transmission mechanism for a four-wheel drive vehicle in which a prime mover is disposed at a low position to lower the center of gravity of the vehicle while a driving path from a transmission to a front wheel differential mechanism is also shortened. [Solutions] In a power transmission mechanism for a four-wheel drive vehicle, the power of a prime mover is transmitted to a front wheel differential mechanism which is disposed in front of the prime mover, and to a rear wheel differential mechanism which is disposed behind a transmission, through the transmission which is disposed behind the prime mover. The transmission comprises a front and rear wheel drive shaft that extends along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. The transmission is arranged separately from the prime mover and a rear axle drive device. The rear end portion of the front and rear wheel drive shaft is connected to an input shaft of the rear wheel differential mechanism. The front end portion of the front and rear wheel drive shaft is connected to an input shaft of the front wheel differential mechanism via a front wheel power transmission shaft that extends along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body and passes through the space beneath the prime mover. The front wheel differential mechanism, the prime mover, the transmission, and the rear wheel differential mechanism are arranged along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body at the center of the vehicle width of the vehicle.
