There is provided a communication status measurement device wirelessly connected to a public network and communicating with a server connected to the public network through a communication channel determined in advance. A measurement unit repeatedly measures a time since a dummy packet is transmitted to the server until an acknowledgement packet corresponding to the dummy packet is received. A pattern calculation unit calculates a pattern obtained by removing a component at frequencies more than a first frequency from a pattern of variations in a measured value. An RTT acquisition unit that acquires a round trip time, which is used to calculate an actual bandwidth of the communication channel, on a basis of the calculated pattern. An implementation unit implements a virtual private network in the communication status measurement device itself. The dummy packet is transmitted and the acknowledgement packet is received via the virtual private network and the public network.

A method of controlling congestion in a communications network comprising a plurality of terminals, comprises the steps of: receiving a message or a message fragment at a given instant; evaluating the number of terminals currently sending; defining a congestion window, of duration ΔTf configured so as to be proportional to the number N of terminals currently sending and inversely proportional to the maximum input loading G of the network which makes it possible to obtain a substantially zero rate of retransmissions; for each terminal and each message or message fragment to be sent, make the start of the congestion window coincide with the given instant of receipt of a message or message fragment and define an actual instant of sending of the message or message fragment as a random value taken in the congestion window.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRECISE RADIO FREQUENCY LOCALIZATION IN THE PRESENCE OF MULTIPLE COMMUNICATION PATHS

Systems and methods for determining locations of wireless nodes in a network architecture are disclosed herein. In one example, an asynchronous system includes a first wireless node having a wireless device with one or more processing units and RF circuitry for transmitting and receiving communications in the wireless network architecture including a first RF signal having a first packet. The system also includes a second wireless node having a wireless device with a transmitter and a receiver to enable bi-directional communications with the first wireless node in the wireless network architecture including a second RF signal with a second packet. The first wireless node determines a time of flight estimate for localization based on a time estimate of round trip time of the first and second packets and a time estimate that is based on channel sense information of the first and second wireless nodes.

System and method for equalizing transmission delay in a network

A network device includes an antenna connected to an RF chip and a processor coupled to an Ethernet port, the RF chip, a program memory, a packet buffer memory, a pointer buffer memory, and a program memory. The program memory contains instruction that, when executed by the processor, cause a plurality of packets received by the antenna and the RF chip in a first order to be stored in the packet buffer memory in such order, cause a pointer associated with each one of the plurality of packets to be stored in the pointer buffer memory, cause the pointers stored in the pointer buffer memory to be placed in a second order in accordance with a timestamp that is included with each packet, cause the packets stored in the packet buffer memory to be passed along to the Ethernet port in accordance with the sorted pointer to each packet.

Base station, user equipment and method for TCP transmission with dynamic TDD reconfiguration

The present disclosure provides a method for forwarding to a Transport Control Protocol (TCP) receiver a TCP transmission sent from a TCP sender. The method includes: determining Time Division Duplex (TDD) reconfiguration time required for a TDD reconfiguration; comparing the TDD reconfiguration time with a predetermined threshold; suspending the forwarding of the TCP transmission to the TCP receiver during the TDD reconfiguration time if the TDD reconfiguration time is larger than the predetermined threshold; and resuming the suspended forwarding of the TCP transmission after the TDD reconfiguration time has lapsed. The present disclosure also provides a method for transmitting a TCP transmission to a TCP receiver, a base station and a user equipment.

Node, network controller, and associated methods for routing data packets in a network
09838311 · 2017-12-05 · ·

There is disclosed a node for routing data packets in a flow. The node generally comprises a receiver which is configured to receive a command to reroute the flow from a first source route to a second source route. The node also includes a processor for determining that a period of time between first and second consecutive data packets of the flow exceeds a threshold value and a transmitter configured to transmit the second data packet on the second source route in response to the determination. Alternatively, the determination of a period of time between first and second consecutive data packets of the flow can be made by a network controller which can instruct a given node to perform the rerouting of the flow in a manner to route only the second and following consecutive data packets along the second source route.

MANAGING DATA TRAFFIC ACCORDING TO DATA STREAM ANALYSIS

Data migrations are not able to be identified or traced through a switched network to their originating hub, because the corresponding TCP/IP data stream goes through a plurality of optimized differential switches and the originating IP in the packet header gets replaced at each switch. The present invention provides a mechanism to introduce a lag or a jitter into the IP to label the migrated data. The labeled data are able to be traced and identified through multiple managed hubs and/or switches.

DATA TRANSMISSION METHOD AND COMPUTING APPARATUS HAVING DATA TRANSMISSION FUNCTION

Provided are a data transmission method, the method comprises transmitting data from a data transmission apparatus to a data reception apparatus, selecting time difference retransmission target data from the data according to a preset rule by using the data transmission apparatus, determining a retransmission time interval according to characteristics of the time difference retransmission target data by using the data transmission apparatus, determining whether time difference retransmission is possible based on the state of a network when the retransmission time interval arrives by using the data transmission apparatus and retransmitting the time difference retransmission target data to the data reception apparatus when determining that the time difference retransmission is possible by using the data transmission apparatus.

Oversubscription monitor

Aspects of oversubscription monitoring are described. In one embodiment, oversubscription monitoring includes accumulating an amount of data that arrives at a network component over at least one epoch of time. Further, a core processing rate at which data can be processed by the network component is calculated. Based on the amount of data and the core processing rate, it is determined whether the network component is operating in an oversubscribed region of operation. In one embodiment, when the network component is operating in the oversubscribed region of operation, certain quality of service metrics are monitored. Using the monitored metrics, a network operation display object may be generated for identifying or troubleshooting network errors during an oversubscribed region of operation of the network component.
