Preparation Method of Bifunctional Dextrin with High Embedding Rate and Rapid Absorption
The present disclosure relates to a preparation method of a bifunctional dextrin with a high embedding rate and rapid absorption. The preparation method includes the following steps: conducting an alkali treatment: adding 10 g of a highly-branched cyclodextrin into a 250 mL Erlenmeyer flask, adding 100 mL of a 2 mol/L NaOH solution, and conducting a treatment in a water bath at 30° C. for 1 h; conducting a high-pressure treatment; mixing materials: adding a cross-linking agent polyacrylic acid and a catalyst sodium dihydrogen phosphate, adding β-cyclodextrin, immersing while stirring for 30 min, and drying; conducting stepwise heating: heating an obtained mixed material in an oven at 90° C. for 15 min, heating to 160° C., and treating for 10 min; and conducting product acquisition: stopping heating, rinsing an obtained heated product with distilled water, conducting filtering to remove impurities, washing twice with 50° C. distilled water, drying, and collecting a resulting finished product.
SUPRAMOLECULAR MOLECULES FOR THE TREATMENT OF CANCER
The present invention provides rotaxanes comprising a macrocycle surrounding an ion comprising a blocking group capable of trapping the macrocycle. Also provided are methods of making such rotaxanes and a method of removing the blocking group from the rotaxane, thereby allowing the ion to escape the macrocycle. The ions have been found to have anticancer, antibacterial and/or antiviral properties. Accordingly, the rotaxanes of the invention may be useful in the treatment of cancer, bacterial and/or viral diseases.
Dendritic Macroporous Hydrogels Prepared By Crystal Templating
The present invention includes a hydrogel and a method of making a porous hydrogel by preparing an aqueous mixture of an uncrosslinked polymer and a crystallizable molecule; casting the mixture into a vessel; allowing the cast mixture to dry to form an amorphous hydrogel film; seeding the cast mixture with a seed crystal of the crystallizable molecule; growing the crystallizable molecule into a crystal structure within the uncrosslinked polymer; crosslinking the polymer around the crystal structure under conditions in which the crystal structure within the crosslinked polymer is maintained; and dissolving the crystals within the crosslinked polymer to form the porous hydrogel.
CONTROLLED-RELEASE AND STRATIFIED CYCLODEXTRIN INCLUSION COMPLEX VEHICLES
The invention provides cyclodextrin inclusion complex delivery vehicles, in which the cyclodextrin inclusion complex is provided together with enzyme having a cyclodextrin-degrading activity capable of digesting the cyclodextrin, so that upon delivery of the vehicle to a target the enzyme is activated and releases the guest molecule from the cyclodextrin cavity. In alternative aspects, these cyclodextrin inclusion complex delivery vehicles are for example provided in the form of medicaments, food ingredients, medical food ingredients, nutritional supplement ingredients, dietary supplement ingredients, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, animal repellents, pheromones, plant growth regulators, fragrances, fabrics or packaging materials.
Cyclodextrin based polymers, methods, compositions and applications thereof
The present disclosure relates to polymers comprising conjugates of cyclodextrin or derivatives thereof and a linker moiety, methods of preparing the same and their application in the removal of lipids such as cholesterol from cells in treating lipid storage disorders. The present polymers exhibit improved properties including but not limiting to improved biocompatibility, improved retention time, prolonged duration of action in cells, and increased efficacy in removal of cholesterol from cells in treating lipid storage disorders.
CYCLODEXTRIN-BASED METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORK MATERIAL AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
The present disclosure belongs to the field of chemical industry production, and particularly relates to CD-MOFs and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the following steps: (1) formulating a supersaturated γ-cyclodextrin alkaline alcohol aqueous solution containing an alkali metal ion; (2) heating to obtain a hot γ-cyclodextrin solution; and (3) cooling the hot γ-cyclodextrin solution of the step (2), and performing crystallization and separation to obtain the cyclodextrin-based metal organic framework material. The CD-MOFs has perfect crystallization and large specific surface area, which are similar with those of a material prepared by means of traditional methods. The important thing is that the synthesis operation thereof is simple, green, and environmentally friendly, and the time required is shortened from a few hours or even tens of hours to a few minutes, which significantly improves the synthesis efficiency and is conductive to industrial scale production.
Cross-linked starch-based polymers for drug-delivery
The invention relates a process for preparing a cross-linked starch-based polymer comprising the following steps: 1) dissolving a starchy material in a suitable solvent to form a starchy material solution; and 2) adding a episulfide of formula (I), wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are independently selected from hydrogen and (C.sub.1-C.sub.3)alkyl in the starchy material solution in order to obtain the disulfide crosslinked starch-based polymer. In another aspect the invention concerns a disulfide-cross-linked starch-based polymer obtainable by the process of the invention, that is characterized by only disulfide bridges.
Graphene-cyclodextrin complex and its use in corrosion prevention
A complex of beta-cyclodextrin and graphene (CD-G) and a method of use of the complex in corrosion protection of the metal surfaces exposed to high saline concentrations. Composite laminates comprise CD-G, zinc (optionally magnesium) powder embedded in a resin matrix and adjacent to the metal, followed by polyurethane comprising a polymeric zinc chelator, followed by a hermetic sealant layer and finally by a hydrophobic self-cleaning fouling release layer as a topcoat. Optional managed stress of the laminated layers by temperature swings and mechanical vibration ensures resolution of local strain at the formative stage and not during functioning, producing defects that are healed during deposition of the next layer. More than 99% of the zinc and other toxic ions extracted from the metal and coating are intercepted by the selective chelator layer insulated under the sealer and fouling-release layers.
