POROUS CYCLODEXTRIN POLYMERIC MATERIALS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SAME

A nucleophilic substitution reaction to crosslink cyclodextrin (CD) polymer with rigid aromatic groups, providing a high surface area, mesoporous CD-containing polymers (P-CDPs). The P-CDPs can be used for removing organic contaminants from water. By encapsulating pollutants to form well-defined host-guest complexes with complementary selectivities to activated carbon (AC) sorbents. The P-CDPs can rapidly sequester pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and other organic micropollutants, achieving equilibrium binding capacity in seconds with adsorption rate constants 15-200 times greater than ACs and nonporous CD sorbents. The CD polymer can be regenerated several times, through a room temperature washing procedure, with no loss in performance.

A method for refining sugammadex sodium is provided: adding a protective agent to crude sugammadex sodium, and obtaining pure sugammadex sodium by performing recrystallization under the protection of inert gas. Among them, the protective agent is one or a mixture of two or more, in any ratio, selected from the group consisting of mercaptoethanol, thioglycolate, thioglycolate ester, mercaptopropionate, mercaptopropionate ester, glutathione, cysteine, cystamine, dithioerythritol, dithiothreitol, trisubstituted organophosphorus compound, and salt of the trisubstituted organophosphorus compound. The method is simple in operation, high in product purity, good in economy, and more suitable for industrial production.

Mechanically interlocked molecules-based materials for 3-D printing

Provided are supramolecular polypseudorotaxane hydrogel compositions and 3-D structures capable of reversible 3-D structural deformation which include (a) a solvent; (b) an at least partially linear polymer, where the polymer further comprises groups capable of covalent crosslinking between the polymers; (ii) at least one first macrocyclic ring which forms a pseudorotaxane with a polymer in the polymer network; and (iii) at least one second macrocyclic ring that does not form the pseudorotaxane. The hydrogel composition has a viscosity which allows for 3-D printing of the hydrogel to form a 3-D structure, and a storage (elastic) modulus after crosslinking that allows for the 3-D structure to undergo reversible 3-D structural deformation upon change of solvent conditions. Also provided are methods of manufacturing the compositions and 3-D structures.
