CYCLODEXTRIN-BASED POLYROTAXANES AND PROTEIN HYBRIDS AS THREE-DIMENSIONAL PRINTING INKS
Embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to a composition that includes a rotaxane. The rotaxane includes a plurality of macrocyclic rings and a polymer with a molecular weight below 10,000 Da that is covalently appended to one or more sterically hindered molecules. The cavities of the macrocyclic rings are threaded onto the polymer. The plurality of threaded macrocyclic rings include a plurality of different segments that each include a plurality of threaded macrocyclic rings. Each of the plurality of different segments is in the form of a crystalline network. Further embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to methods of forming the rotaxanes by covalently appending one or more sterically hindered molecules onto a polymer and threading a plurality of macrocyclic rings onto the polymer. Additional embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to methods of manufacturing a three-dimensional structure by applying a composition of the present disclosure onto a surface.
PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING MELOXICAM
Disclosed herein are compositions comprising an NSAID such as meloxicam and/or rizatriptan in combination with a cyclodextrin and/or a carbonate or a bicarbonate. These compositions may be orally administered, for example, to improve the bioavailability or pharmacokinetics of the NSAID for the treatment of pain such as migraine, arthritis, and other conditions. Also disclosed herein are methods of treating pain, such as migraine, comprising administering meloxicam and rizatriptan to a human being suffering from pain, such as migraine. For migraine, these methods may be particularly useful when the meloxicam and rizatriptan are administered while the human being is suffering from an acute attack of migraine pain or migraine aura. In some embodiments, the combination of meloxicam and rizatriptan may be administered in a manner that results in a T.sub.max of meloxicam of 3 hours or less.
Polyimide composite, a method of preparing thereof, and application thereof
A polyimide composite, a method of preparing thereof, and an application thereof are provided. A general structure of the polyimide composite is: SiO.sub.2-(β-CD-Ada).sub.x/PI, and x is 3 to 5. The polyimide composite has the functions of self-repairing and anti-aging.
METHOD FOR DRYING SUGAMMADEX
This invention relates to a process for preparing Sugammadex or its salts, preferably Sugammadex sodium, with a low content of organic solvents, preferably water-miscible organic solvents, more preferably ethanol, 2-propanol and/or acetone. The process comprises exposing Sugammadex or its salts, preferably Sugammadex sodium, to a medium with a high relative humidity.

A new class of synthetic cyclodextrin dimers is described. Exemplary cyclodextrin dimers can treat atherosclerotic plaques by targeting various forms cholesterol both intracellularly and extracellularly. Also provided are methods of depleting atherosclerotic plaques of cholesterol, cholesterol esters, 7-ketocholesterol and 7-ketocholesterol esters by treatment with such cyclodextrins. Further described are subclasses of dimers that have high specificity for 7-ketocholesterol.
Fat-binding compositions
A fat-binding composition contains an inclusion complex with a host molecule and a guest molecule. The guest molecule includes one or more amino acids, vitamins, flavorants or related compounds, rutin, betanin, derivatives thereof, and mixtures thereof. The fat-binding composition may be in the form of a tablet or powder, for example, and may be incorporated into a food or beverage product. If in the form of a powder or tablet, the composition may optionally contain a carbonation-forming component and may be dissolved in carbonated or non-carbonated water. The fat-binding composition may also be employed in a method for binding fat ingested by an animal which includes having the animal ingest the composition, or a food or beverage product containing the same.
