SERVER, APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING CALL AVAILABILITY INFORMATION
A server, an apparatus, and a method for providing a call availability information of a driver are disclosed. A call availability information providing server may include a driving route calculating unit configured to receive a starting position and destination information transmitted from a vehicle terminal connected through a wireless communication network and to calculate a driving route corresponding to the received starting position and destination information; a call availability information generating unit configured to calculate a driving mode and a passing time per unit interval within the calculated driving route and to generate call availability information based on the calculated driving mode and passing time per unit interval when it is determined that a vehicle installed with the vehicle terminal is driving; and a call availability information transmitting unit configured to transmit the generated call availability information to the vehicle terminal.
Contextually Configuring Consistent Proximity Beacon Identifiers
Administration and consistency of proximity beacon naming within one or more venues is improved by use of a mobile device to discover ranges of the beacons, and upon discovery, determining a location of a mobile computing device within the venue; receiving at the location by the mobile computing device one or more identifiers from one or more proximity beacons within range of the location; and updating by the mobile device at least one of the one or more identifiers according to a proximity beacon naming policy.
SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUSES FOR IMPLEMENTING VIDEO SHOOTING GUNS AND PERSONAL SAFETY MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS
In accordance with disclosed embodiments, there are provided systems, methods, and apparatuses for implementing video shooting guns and personal safety management applications. An exemplary personal safety device may include, for example, a processor and a memory to execute instructions; a rechargeable battery to electrically power the personal safety device; a front facing video camera to capture video data of a scene anterior to a front face of the personal safety device; a rear facing video camera to capture video data of a scene posterior to a rear of the personal safety device; an audio capture device to capture audio data from an environment within which the personal safety device is to operate; a trigger to initiate recording of the front facing video camera, the rear facing video camera, and the audio capture device when triggered by an operator of the personal safety device; and a transceiver to transmit the recorded video data from the front and rear cameras and the captured audio data to a remote location over a network. According to another embodiment, a holster operates in conjunction with a body camera to activate audio and video capture and streaming upon removal of a firearm from the holster. Other related embodiments are disclosed.
FACILITY WAYFINDING SYSTEM
A facility wayfinding system is provided which includes an interactive public display device and a mobile device, running a mobile wayfinding application. The interactive public display device, which is situated at a first location within a facility, displays a facility map showing facility units, receives a user selection of a facility unit as a second location, and displays a route from the first location to the second location on the facility map. The mobile device also displays the facility map, displays a route from a start location to a destination location on the facility map, and updates the start location to the first location and the destination location to the second location by synchronizing with the interactive public display device.
TRIGGERING TRANSMISSIONS USING LOCATION INFORMATION
Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for triggering transmissions using a location. One apparatus includes a processor that determines reference location information. The processor also determines current location information. The processor determines whether a trigger is satisfied using the reference location information and the current location information. The apparatus also includes a transmitter that transmits the current location information in response to the trigger being satisfied.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS FOR ACCURATELY TRACKING WORKERS AND ASSETS
Various examples of methods, systems, apparatus and devices are provided for accurately tracking of workers and assets. Aspects of the present disclosure include tracking the location and other information for workers and assets in locations where knowledge about such workers and assets is desirable. The disclosed worker and/or asset tracking is particularly suitable for locations where the structural components are added, modified or moved during a monitoring period. Such structural components can block all or part of GPS, WiFi and RFID signals, or where it may be otherwise impractical to utilize other forms of signal generation.
GEOFENCE DETERMINATION
A method, executed by one or more processors, includes determining a geofence by receiving an indication to determine a first location. The method includes determining a second location. Furthermore, the method includes connecting sequentially each of a set of sequentially determined locations to determine a geofence, wherein the set of sequentially determined locations includes at least the first location and the second location.
AD-HOC COMMUNITY CONTEXT AWARENESS FOR MOBILE DEVICE
Aspects of the disclosure are directed to solutions for determining context for a mobile computing device. The context represents a current user activity or environment in which the mobile device is used. The device generates a query for transmission to a remote community context service in response to a determined need to obtain community context information, such as when the device is unable to determine context with a sufficient confidence measure. Community context information is obtained from the remote community context service. The community context information is based on a remote context determination of at least one other mobile computing device determined to be similarly situated to the first computing device. The device's current context may be updated based on the community context information.
Map Assisted Inertial Navigation
The present invention provides an improved method of pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR) and device for performing PDR. An image of the environment to be traversed by the pedestrian is used to define states associated with the PDR environment. The image is utilized to constrain error in the estimated location of the pedestrian. Pairs of states are identified and the characteristics of the defined states are utilized to define the probabilities of transitioning between states of the pair. Possible pedestrian events which may be observed are also defined and for each pair of states, the possibility of detecting an event given the state transition is determined. After detecting a series of events, the transition probabilities and the event probabilities are utilized to determine a state probability that the pedestrian is in a particular state at each particular time. Utilizing these state probabilities an estimated location is provided at each time.
Identity management in a networked computing environment
An approach for user identity management in a virtualized/networked (e.g., cloud) computing environment is provided. In a typical embodiment, historical command usage within a server environment is analyzed to determine the characteristics of the commands being run against a cloud resource to determine with a confidence rating the likelihood the commands are being executed by a certain user. Such an approach allows for more efficient user identity management in order to optimize cloud security and system administration.
