ELECTRONIC BADGE AS A TALKING MARKER

A process uses electronic badges to convey a condition associated with an environment to an industrial vehicle. The process comprises identifying a condition in a limited, defined environment and associating the identified condition with a badge ID. The process also comprises programming an electronic badge based upon the identified condition and positioning the electronic badge within a work area of industrial vehicles. Still further, the process comprises receiving, by a processor on an industrial vehicle, information from the electronic badge including at least one of the associated badge ID and the identified condition. The information is received via a badge communicator that communicates with electronic badges that are within a predetermined range of the industrial vehicle via a first wireless communication link. The process also determines the condition from the information from the electronic badge, and controls the industrial vehicle to take a predetermined action based upon the determined condition.

Enhanced Wireless Communications and Power Systems for a Venue
20170372564 · 2017-12-28 ·

Systems for providing enhanced wireless communications and power at venues are provided. In one embodiment, the system includes a first communication device that receives audio from a user (such as a coach on a sideline), generates a wireless signal, and transmits the wireless signal to a second communication device via an antenna system (e.g., an antenna system mounted on an overhead camera) that relays the signal. The second communication device (which could be worn by a player during a sporting event) receives the wireless signal and plays the audio. In another embodiment, the wireless signal is broadcast to a plurality of communications devices worn by players. Also provided is a power and communication system for use at a seat at the venue, which provides power for a user's mobile device as well as wired and wireless network (e.g., Internet) connectivity at the seat.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR IMPROVING ACCURACY OF INDOOR POSITIONING

A computerized method of improving position measurement of an indoor positioning system (IPS), comprising: gathering a plurality of position samples of a mobile device measured by an indoor wireless device, each of the position samples is indicative of a measured position and a measurement time; receiving a current position sample of the mobile device; for each of the plurality of position samples and the current position sample, determining a time weight, the time weight is higher for samples measured at a later time; for each of the plurality of position samples and the current position sample, determining a signal weight, the signal weight is higher for measured with stronger signal; and estimating a current position of the mobile device by weighting at least some of the position samples with the respective weights.

Speech Recognition Telecommunications System with Distributable Units
20170374529 · 2017-12-28 ·

A speech recognition telecommunications system with distributable units. The system includes a primary unit and one or more secondary units, wherein the primary unit includes a processor, memory, a logic, a telecommunications transceiver configured to connect to a telecommunications network, and a secondary transceiver in communication with the secondary units. The secondary units are distributable throughout a structure and each include a transceiver, speaker, and a microphone for relaying received audio signals back to the primary unit. In operation, the primary unit receives a user's audio via its microphone or via transmission from a secondary unit. The logic then compares the user's vocal pattern to stored vocal patterns to confirm a user match. If there is a user match, then the logic compares the user's spoken command to a library of predetermined commands, wherein the processor executes the matching command from the library.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GUIDING RESULT OF REMOTE CONTROL USING MOBILE DEVICE

Provided are a system and a method for guiding a result of remote control using a mobile device, and particularly, a system and a method for guiding a result of remote control, which determines a scheme that feeds back the remote control result of a vehicle to a mobile device app of a user.

ASSOCIATING EXTERNAL CREDENTIALS WITH MOBILE DEVICES
20170372545 · 2017-12-28 ·

A computer-implemented method includes monitoring one or more mobile devices within a venue. The computer-implemented method further includes receiving a scan event indication denoting a scan of a ticket by a scanning device. The computer-implemented method further includes, responsive to receiving a scan event indication, identifying a candidate list, wherein the candidate list includes one or more candidate mobile devices that are within a threshold distance of the scanning device. The computer-implemented method further includes associating the ticket with at least one of the one or more candidate mobile devices. A corresponding computer system and computer program product are also disclosed.

Displaying location-specific images on a mobile device

A system is provided for providing location-specific images to a mobile device for display. The system generally comprises three components: a mobile device having a screen, a position identification system (e.g., a GPS receiver) that determines the position of the mobile device, and a database containing location-specific images taken at various locations. Each location-specific image is associated with geographic coordinates of the location at which the image was taken. Based on the position of the mobile device as determined by the position identification system, a location-specific image is selected from the database and displayed on the screen of the mobile device. For example, when a user is using the mobile device as a car navigation system, a location-specific image of the user's destination location can be selected and displayed when the determined position of the mobile device comes within a certain distance from the geographic coordinates of the destination location.

Apparatus, system, and method for detecting the presence and controlling the operation of mobile devices within a vehicle
