Tamper resistant system for creating zones and manipulating computing devices
A system for selectively manipulating a mobile device when the mobile device is present within one or more defined zones within an area. The system comprises a control device transmitting a signal, with the signal having a decreasing signal strength as distance from the control device increases. The system additional comprises one or more profiles stored in a memory for determining the one or more defined zones based on one or more values, each value corresponding to a particular signal strength of the signal, and at least one software application executing on the mobile device. The application is configured for accessing the profiles from a memory and receiving, from the mobile device, an indication of the signal received at the mobile device and a signal strength of the received signal, and selectively manipulating the mobile device as a function of the signal strength and the one or more profiles.

A network-enabled bicycle comprising a bicycle frame and an electronic device mounted to said bicycle frame is provide. The electronic device of network-enabled bicycle is configured to communicating with other network-enabled bicycles and/or a server via a wireless network access point. In general, a set of network-enabled bicycles are equipped with respective electronic devices which are programmed for allowing the bicycles in the set of bicycles to exchange data directly or indirectly with each other and/or exchange data directly or indirectly with the server via one or more of the wireless network access points connected to the server through a data network. In accordance with one specific example of implementation, the network-enabled bicycle connects to the wireless network access point over an open Wi-Fi connection.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CALCULATING A POSITION OF A MOBILE COMMUNICATION DEVICE WITHIN AN ENVIRONMENT
A position determining system and method for calculating a position of a mobile communication device within an environment is presented. The position determining system comprises a memory comprising a logical model of the environment; a status signal receiver configured to receive a status signal pertaining to a status of the environment; and logical circuitry configured to: dynamically update the logical mode of the environment based on the status signal; estimate one or more sets of geographic coordinates of the mobile communication device; map match the estimated one or more sets of geographic coordinates of the mobile communication device to the dynamically updated logical mod& of the environment; and calculate the position of the mobile communication device within the environment based on the map match.
DATA PROVIDING SYSTEM
Each of data receiving devices 20 includes a receiver 22 configured to receive data from a data providing device 10, and a transmitter 21 configured to transmit throughput information indicating a current position and a throughput, to the data providing device 10. The data providing device 10 includes: a receiver 11 configured to receive pieces of the throughput information; a planning unit 12 configured to, on the basis of the received pieces of throughput information, determine preceding data receiving devices 20 existing at positions preceding the current position of a target data receiving device 20 on the same route, and generate a data providing plan for the target data receiving device 20 on the basis of the throughputs of the preceding data receiving devices 20; and a transmitter 13 configured to provide data to the target data receiving device 20 in accordance with the generated data providing plan.
METHOD FOR POSITIONING A MOBILE TERMINAL AT THE MOMENT WHEN A TRIGGER EVENT OCCURS
The invention relates to navigation, particularly, to detection of indoor and outdoor positions of mobile devices. Technical result of the invention is to improve the accuracy of mobile terminal position detection at time of occurrence of a specific trigger event and decrease of load on sensor, computing, communication and other resources of the mobile terminal at times when a trigger event occurs. Mobile terminal positioning technique at the trigger event moment, is characterized by the following sequence: receipt of series of readings of inertial and non-inertial sensors, identification of intervals, during which readings of at least one sensor generates a stationary process; then detection of at least one point of time, when at least one stationary process is replaced by another stationary process; then identification of parameters of at least one pattern of movement for at least one stationarity interval; then detection of at least one position of the mobile terminal according to readings of non-inertial sensors; estimation of mobile terminal path according to parameters of at least one pattern of movement and then of position corresponding to change of one stationary process to another; then detection of mobile terminal position at time corresponding to a specific trigger event.
Method and Apparatus for Indoor Location Estimation Among Peer-To-Peer Devices
Methods and apparatus perform location estimation among peer-to-peer devices. For the various methods, data of several different types, such as received signal strength, timing measurements, time stamps, actual transmit power, etc., is measured, stored, and propagated within a peer-to-peer network to enable each device in the peer-to-peer network to calculate positioning coordinates for one or more devices having unknown positioning coordinates.
