PARALLEL PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING COMMUNICATION
20170293589 · 2017-10-12 · ·

A packet transmitting unit transmits, to a node via RDMA communication, a packet with a first identifier that represents a predetermined process and a second identifier that represents a destination communication interface and is a logical identifier, as a destination, being added thereto. A plurality of communication interfaces exist. A packet receiving unit receives a packet transmitted from the node via RDMA communication, selects a communication interface that is a destination of a received packet and is used in the predetermined process, based on the first identifier and the second identifier added to the received packet, and transfers the received packet to a selected communication interface.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CREATING SESSION ENTRY
20170295097 · 2017-10-12 ·

A system for creating a session entry and forwarding an IP packet includes memories that store session and session template tables, and first and second processors in communication with the memories. When the first processor receives the IP packet, it determines whether the session table includes a session entry corresponding to the IP packet. If the session table does not include the session entry, the first processor determines whether the session template table includes a session template entry corresponding to the IP packet. The first processor generates the session entry using the session template entry and the IP packet. If the session template table does not include the session template entry, the first processor forwards the IP packet to the second processor, which generates the session template entry and the session entry.

Energy efficient staggered short transmissions (SST) protocol for wireless sensor networks (WSN)

An embodiment of wireless communication in a wireless sensor network (WSN) comprises selecting amount of information transmission from a sensor node utilizing a transmission parameter, wherein the transmission parameter indicates the amount of sensed information to discard from a transmission. Sensed information from a sensor node is transmitted based on the transmission parameter. Discarded sensor information is reconstructed at a receiver based on received sensor information and utilizing information correlation.

METHOD AND USER EQUIPMENT FOR UPLINK TRAFFIC MAPPING

The embodiments herein relate to a method in a UE for handling transmission of an uplink data packet to a PDN. The UE determines if there is any uplink packet filter assigned to at least one bearer that matches the uplink data packet. When there is no uplink packet filter that matches the uplink data packet, the UE determines if there is any uplink packet filter on the default bearer. When there is no uplink packet filter that matches the uplink data packet and when there is no uplink packet filter on the default bearer, the UE determines that the uplink packet should be transmitted to the PDN using a default bearer. The default bearer has not been assigned any uplink packet filter.

A TRANSMITTER THAT DOES NOT RESEND A PACKET DESPITE RECEIPT OF A MESSAGE TO RESEND THE PACKET
20170288814 · 2017-10-05 ·

A processing device includes an internal transmitter to receive packets and to forward those packets across a link to an external receiver external to the processing device. The internal transmitter is to receive a portion of a packet and to begin transmitting the portion across the link to the external receiver before the entire overall packet, of which the portion is a part, is received and validated. For a packet determined to have an error, the internal transmitter does not resend the overall packet across the link even if a message is received from the external receiver to resend the overall packet.

PERFORMING DUPLICATE ADDRESS DETECTION FOR AN INTEGRATED ROUTING AND BRIDGING DEVICE
20170289094 · 2017-10-05 ·

A device may activate a layer 3 interface of the device based on activation of a first layer 2 interface associated with the layer 3 interface. The device may detect activation of a second layer 2 interface, associated with the layer 3 interface, after activating the layer 3 interface. The device may activate a filter to prevent transfer of network traffic via the second layer 2 interface based on detecting activation of the second layer 2 interface. The device may perform duplicate address detection, in association with the second layer 2 interface, for a layer 3 network address assigned to the device. The device may determine whether the layer 3 network address is a duplicate network address based on performing the duplicate address detection. The device may selectively maintain or deactivate the filter based on determining whether the layer 3 network address is a duplicate network address.

In a core node, packet related information included in a packet is extracted, a virtual queue length, which is an estimated value of a queue length of a transmission queue addressed to a user in an edge device, is calculated and held on a user basis on the basis of the packet related information and band information of a line between the edge device and the user, and a determination is made, on a user basis, as to whether or not band control is required, on the basis of the virtual queue length and predetermined conditions so as to perform, on the basis of the result of the determination, the band control of the packet addressed to the user on a user basis in a packet relay part.

An example method for a device to implement one of the nodes in a wireless network for processing packets includes submitting a request to a network-management system in the network to become a node in the network, after having registered with the network-management system, determining neighboring nodes, flooding the wireless network with a link-state advertisement, the link-state advertisement providing neighboring relationships of the node, constructing switching rules for the node based on a tree switching network portion of the network, processing the packets received by the node with the switching rules, the switching rules defining at least one of (1) an ingress link to a parent node with a power capability greater than the node and (2) egress links to child nodes with a mobility greater than the node, and in response to having determined a failed link to a neighboring node, informing a node at the end of an ingress wireless link and the network-management system of the failed link.

A switch access module, a cell encapsulation method, a switching network system and a computer storage medium are described. The method includes that: the switch access module determines accumulated unsent data corresponding to a destination address according to the destination address of a received data packet, the accumulated unsent data corresponding to the destination address including the data packet received by the switch access module and unsent data cached by the switch access module and corresponding to the destination address; and the accumulated unsent data corresponding to the destination address is filled into at least one cell according to a preset cell minimum length and a length of the accumulated unsent data corresponding to the destination address.

CHAINING OF NETWORK SERVICE FUNCTIONS IN A COMMUNICATION NETWORK
20170250917 · 2017-08-31 ·

In an apparatus of a communication network first packets of a data flow in a first direction are acquired, each having a first service chain identifier identifying a first chain of services which have been applied to the first packets in the first direction of the data flow. The first service chain identifier represents a classification result of classification functions used for selecting the first chain of services. Based on the first service chain identifier, a packet filter is calculated, which is associated with a second chain of services to be applied to second packets of the data flow in a second direction of the data flow when the second packets enter the communication network in the second direction.
