Integrated fluidjet system for stripping, prepping and coating a part

A method of stripping, prepping and coating a surface comprises first stripping the exiting coating from a surface, using continuous or pulsed fluid jet, followed by prepping the surface by the same fluid jet. The method also provides entraining particles into a fluid stream, if desired to generate a particle-entrained fluid stream that is directed at the surface to be stripped and prepped. The particles act as abrasive particles for prepping the surface to a prescribed surface roughness required for subsequent application of a coating to the surface. The method then entails coating the surface by electrically charging particles having the same chemical composition as the particles used to prep the surface. Finally, a charged-particle-entrained fluid stream is directed at high speed at the charged surface to coat the surface. The particles form both mechanical and electronic bonds with the surface.

DEVICE FOR REMOVING WET PAINT OVERSPRAY

The invention relates to a device for removing wet paint overspray from an outgoing air flow (120) containing over-spray particles. The device separates wet paint over-spray from an over-spray particle contained in an exhaust air stream (120). The overspray particles in the exhaust air stream (120) are formed during the painting at an application area (108) of a painting installation (100). The device (126) comprises of at least one separation apparatus for separating the over-spray from the exhaust air stream (120). The separation apparatus includes a regeneratable surface filter (146) and the flow path of the exhaust air stream (120) from the application area (108) to a separating device (145) having at least one narrowed area (146). The central direction of flow of the exhaust air stream (120) remains essentially preserved in passing by the narrowed area (140).

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TREATING CIRCULATING WATER CIRCULATING THROUGH WET PAINT BOOTH

An adequate control of a pH of circulating water circulating through a wet paint booth enables an efficient coagulation treatment of a paint included in the circulating water. A method for treating circulating water circulating through a wet paint booth and including a paint includes treating the paint included in the circulating water by adding an alkaline solution of a phenolic resin to the circulating water, and adjusting a pH of the circulating water to 6.5 to 8.0. An amount of the alkaline solution of the phenolic resin added to the circulating water is increased when the pH of the circulating water is a predetermined value of 8.0 or less. An acidic aluminum salt is further added to the circulating water. An amount of the acidic aluminum salt added to the circulating water is increased when the pH of the circulating water is a predetermined value of 6.5 or more.

By setting a robot installing area at a higher pressure than an adjacent painting area, there is formed an air flow which flows from the robot installing area into the painting area. With this, in a painting facility in which a painting object is painted by paint spraying from a sprayer while displacing the painting object held to an arm leading end portion of a painting robot relative to the sprayer by an action of the painting robot, adhesion of paint to the painting robot and to a painting area lateral wall is prevented.

Device for measuring undulation of brake disc in railway wheel with brake discs

A device for measuring undulation of a brake disc in a railway wheel with brake discs includes a wheel support supporting a hub's bore of the railway wheel; a first displacement gauge for measuring a height displacement of the brake disc frictional surface for one round to follow rotation of the wheel support; and a second displacement gauge for measuring a height displacement of a railway wheel rim surface for one round to follow rotation of the wheel support. A computing unit calculates a difference between maximum and minimum values of the height displacement of the frictional surface by acquiring measurement data from the first displacement gauge, calculates a difference between the maximum and minimum values of the height displacement of the rim's surface by acquiring measurement data from the second displacement gauge, and derives a difference between the both calculated differences as brake disc undulation.
