Solid state lighting switches and fixtures providing dimming and color control
A solid state lighting switch can include a first input control that can be configured to adjust a dimming indication or color indication for a solid state lighting fixture that is configured for coupling to the solid state lighting switch. A selective linking mechanism can be configured to activate a linked mode of operation of the switch to link the dimming indication to the color indication or to activate an unlinked mode of operation of the switch to unlink the dimming indication from the color indication.
Self identifying modulated light source
In one aspect, the present disclosure relates to a self identifying light source including an emitter that produces visible light; and an autonomous modulator in electrical communication with the emitter that automatically and continually modulates the visible light produced by the emitter, wherein the modulated visible light represents an identification code of the light source. In some embodiments, the emitter is a light emitting diode (LED) and further comprises an LED driver that provides a specified voltage and current to each LED in the light source.
Systems, methods, and devices for networked lighting
Systems, methods, and devices for a networked lighting system are described herein. One system includes a controller for a networked lighting system, comprising, a memory and a processor configured to execute executable instructions stored in the memory to receive, from an image sensor, positions of a number of luminaires in a networked lighting system of a building. The controller further configured to create a lighting map of the networked lighting system based on the received number of luminaire positions and change an address assigned to at least one of the number of luminaires based on the lighting map.
Lighting unit with near field communication, integrated circuit and methods therefor
A lighting unit having a microcontroller; and a near field communication (NFC)-enabled embedded device comprising NFC shared memory configured to be written to by both an external NFC reader/writer using near field communication and the microcontroller and configured to enable an operation of the lighting unit to be both monitored and controlled using NFC. In this manner, the operation of a lighting unit may be monitored using NFC and controlled by using one of two approaches, such as via a microcontroller within the lighting unit and/or a near field communication, NFC, via the NFC-enabled embedded device; wherein the microcontroller is configured to manage a communication protocol to facilitate communications between the lighting unit and at least one other NFC-enabled device.
Environment optimization for space based on presence and activities
A method for facilitating space experiences for at least a first space user and for at least first and second different spaces, the method comprising the steps of storing first and second space experience specifications for the first and second different spaces, respectively, wherein the first and second space experience specifications indicate space affordance settings for the first and second spaces, respectively, sensing a trigger event associated with at least one of the first and second different spaces, where the sensed trigger event is associated with the first space, using the first space experience specification to control the first space affordances and where the sensed trigger event is associated with the second space, using the second space experience specification to control the second space affordances.
Bus voltage correction circuit
A tunable voltage regulator has an output generating a variable voltage and an input that receives a trimming signal for controlling the output variable voltage. A current regulating circuit operates to regulate a current flowing through a load in response to the variable voltage. A control circuit senses the variable voltage and a drop voltage of the current regulating circuit, and determines whether the current regulating circuit has failed to regulate the current flowing through the load because the variable voltage is too low. In response thereto, the control circuit generates the trimming signal to set the variable voltage to a value sufficient for the current regulating circuit to successfully regulate the current flowing through the load.
Method of characterizing a light source and a mobile device
A method of and a device for characterizing a light source and a method of selecting a replacement light source are provided. The method obtains (102) a first image of a light source in operation, obtains (106) a second image of the illuminated environment, and obtains (104, 108) first camera settings and second camera settings of the optical system and image processing system of the respective first and second camera at the respective moments in time that the first image and the second image was obtained. The first image, the second image, and the first and second camera settings are analyzed (110) to estimate characteristics of the light source. The characteristics of the light source may be used to propose a replacement light source and characteristics of the proposed replacement light source may be used to simulate the effect of the replacement light source on the illuminated environment.
Device for linking selective illumination of a light source with input and related methods
Systems, methods, apparatus and computer-readable media (transitory and non-transitory) are described herein for facilitating linking of selective illumination of one or more light sources (106, also referred to as lighting elements) to states of one or more inputs (102). In various embodiments a linking computing device (104) may render, e.g., on a display (212) such as an ambient display, a source graphical element (214) that represents an input and a sink graphical element (216) that represents a light source. In various embodiments, the computing device may receive a user-input instruction to alter one of the source and sink graphical elements to be within a predetermined proximity of the other on the display. In various embodiments, the computing device may link selective illumination of the light source to a state of the input while the source and sink graphical elements are within the predetermined proximity of each other on the display.
