METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PILOT DECISION AID FOR THE AIRCRAFT PILOTING AND ASSOCIATED COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT
This decision aid method includes the following steps: acquiring (110) operating states of systems, the operating states being determined by a monitoring system; determining (120) an availability state of each operational capacity, based on the operating states of only the systems of the aircraft implementing that operational capacity, each availability state being chosen from among the group consisting of: a normal state, a downgraded state, an impacted state and a lost state; selecting (150) one or more operational capacities based on the current movement context of the aircraft; communicating (150) the availability state of each selected operational capacity to the pilot.
Method and device for generating an optimum vertical path intended to be followed by an aircraft
A method and device for generating an optimum vertical path intended to be followed by an aircraft. The device comprises at least one database relating to fixed and moving obstacles, a data entering unit, a data processing unit implementing iterative processing to generate an optimum vertical path between an initial state and a final state as a function of flight strategies, that optimum vertical path being generated in such a manner as to be free of any collision with surrounding obstacles and to conform to energy constraints, and a data transmission link for transmitting that optimum vertical path to at least one user system.
System and method for integrating temporal data into flight management systems
The embodiments described herein can provide systems and methods for combining traditional navigational data with temporary updates. Such a system and method can facilitate the inclusion of temporary navigational events into the navigational data made available on aircraft flight management system (FMS). For example, the systems and methods can be used to combine Aeronautical Information Regulation and Control (AIRAC) navigational data that is traditionally updated on 28 day cycles, with temporary navigational data changes, such as those typically indicated in Notices to Airmen (NOTAM). The combined navigational dataset can then be provided to the FMS.
System and method for displaying a runway position indicator
A dynamic runway indicator is displayed overlying a conformal runway for assisting a pilot in completing an approach to landing on a runway. The dynamic runway indicator includes a polygon, that by changing position with respect to the conformal runway, provides advanced instrumentation cues to the pilot for adjusting the aircraft flight path to a normal, or recommended, path to the runway for landing, thereby assisting the pilot to improve the accuracy and safety of the approach and landing.
Aircraft instrumentation systems for displaying electronic circuit breaker information
Aircraft instrumentation systems and controllers are provided. An aircraft instrumentation system includes a display and a controller. The controller is configured to monitor an electronic circuit breaker (ECB) status of each of a plurality of aircraft systems. The controller is further configured to generate, for each of the plurality of aircraft systems, a visual indicator that indicates the ECB status. The controller is yet further configured to generate an image arrangement that includes the visual indicator for each of the plurality of aircraft systems and to generate a signal that causes a display to present the image arrangement.
GROUND BASED NAVIGATION AID EQUIPMENT FOR AIRCRAFT SAFETY
A method, system, and computer-readable medium for performing a hazard analysis of navigation aid equipment using an external safety monitor. Aspects include monitoring performance of the navigation aid equipment. In addition, determination is made if an improper performance of the navigation aid equipment is detected. Furthermore, removal of a signal from an antenna of the navigation aid equipment may occur when improper performance of the navigation aid equipment is detected.
Method, system and computer program for providing, on a human-machine interface, data relating to an aspect of the operation of an aircraft
A method, system and computer program for providing, on a human-machine interface, data relating to an aspect of the operation of an aircraft and grouped into one and the same area of the interface, the method comprising the following steps. A step of detecting a request to display an aspect of the operation of the aircraft. The method also includes a step of computing a flight situation and generating a consolidated aeroplane situation. A step of associating the elementary data linked to the consolidated aeroplane situation to extract therefrom updated situational data. The method then includes a step of grouping the updated situational data into a plurality of sub-sets to allow display of the data in the display area. Finally the method includes a step of displaying, in the display area, the sub-sets of data.
Aircraft motion planning method
A method of route planning for a vehicle proceeding from a current location to a destination in a planning space is provided. The method includes generating a destination-rooted tree from global information that provides cost-to-go routing to the destination from multiple locations in the planning space, generating a vehicle-rooted tree using local information from the current location out to a sensing horizon and determining a local destination at the sensing horizon. The local destination corresponds to minimal cost-to-go routing obtained from the destination-rooted tree.
Methods and systems for performing charting tasks
A method for accessing information on an electronic version of an navigation information display is described. The method includes displaying navigation information in a first portion of a display of a device, the device incorporating a touch screen, sensing a user touch on the touch screen, determining, by the device, a selected location on the touch screen where the user touch has occurred, correlating the selected location on the touch screen where the user touch has occurred with a location on the navigation information display, displaying a magnified area of a portion of the navigation information proximate the location on the touch screen where the user touch occurred, and displaying textual information related to the magnified area in a second portion of the display device.
FAST FLIGHT TRAJECTORY OPTIMISATION FOR IN-FLIGHT COMPUTATION AND FLIGHT MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
A system and method of generating optimised aircraft flight trajectories on Flight Management Systems with limited computational power that takes into account developing operational conditions, air traffic constraints and aircraft performance in a timely manner on the flight management system that can allow tactical flight plan changes to be incorporated without unduly introducing operational or financial penalties to the operator. An example method involves parameterisation of optimal trajectories as functions of operational parameters thereby allowing computational systems to use such computed functions in the air to determine the optimal trajectory or flight profile required for the specific operating conditions quickly and accurately.
