Flame retardant shipping container

The present invention relates to a flame retardant shipping container for lithium ion batteries, and more particularly for containing a thermal runaway event. The shipping container comprising an outer box, preferably made of flame-retardant corrugated fiberboard, containing a vacuum plenum/thermal shield assembly and a tray and a first flame-retardant pouch. The assembly comprising an inner container on a thermal shield inside a metalized vacuum bag. The inner container further comprises an inner cavity and an opening and a second flame-retardant pouch. The assembly rests on the tray. The pouches contain molecular sieves and palladium plated microsphere catalysts. The thermal shield has an aluminum foil surface and is filled with thermal paste. The tray is preferably flame-retardant molded paper pulp and forms at least two pockets separated by flame-retardant molded pulp separators. The tray is separated from the outer box by an air gap containing the first flame-retardant pouch.

VEHICLE FUEL TANK FOR IMPROVED CRASHWORTHINESS

A fuel tank in a vehicle. The fuel tank includes a protective outer shell and an inner shell. The protective outer shell has an inner shell receiving area. The inner shell, which holds fuel, is housed in the inner shell receiving area of the outer shell. The inner shell cooperates with the outer shell to maintain the position of the inner shell relative to the outer shell and relative to the vehicle during normal operation. During an impact to the vehicle, the inner shell moves independent of the outer shell and the vehicle, allowing a portion of the energy or the forces associated with an impact to be absorbed by the outer shell, reducing the energy or force transferred to the inner shell.

Food container using heating element

A food container using a heating element, which container enhances convenience since a user can simply inject water toward the heating element by opening an inflow passage of an outer container without removing an inner container, and can keep the heating element stable in a simplified structure since a space containing the heating element inside the outer container and a space containing water are formed to be divided by a protrusion jaw but to communicate with each other.

Vehicle fuel tank for improved crashworthiness

A fuel tank in a vehicle. The fuel tank includes a protective outer shell, an inner shell and a crush sleeve. The protective outer shell defines an outer tank. The inner shell defines an inner tank which holds fuel. The inner shell is housed in the outer shell and is isolated from the outer shell by a space. The crush sleeve is provided in the space between the outer shell and the inner shell. The crush sleeve supports the inner shell and maintains the inner shell in position relative to the outer shell. Wherein during an impact to the vehicle, the force of the impact causes the outer shell and the crush sleeve to deform and the inner shell to move relative to the outer shell.

PRIMARY BEVERAGE CONTAINER WITH TEMPERATURE CONTROL

A primary beverage container includes a container body (102) and a container end (230). The container body includes an outer wall (104) and an inner wall (106). The outer wall defines an outer cavity (116), and the inner wall defines an inner cavity (122) with an opening (124) at a top end (108) of the container body. The inner wall is positioned within the outer cavity such that between the top end and a bottom end of the container body, the inner wall is spaced apart from the outer wall within the outer cavity. The container end is joined to the top end of the container body and covers the opening of the inner cavity.

Shipping container having a flame retardant layer and a thermal blocking layer

The present invention relates to containers and packaging materials, and more particularly to a container having a thermal barrier member for reducing the transfer of heat from and/or to the container. The shipping container preferably comprises an outer vessel with an O-ring and an inner vessel separated by an air gap. The inner vessel has a first and second wall and a lid assembly. The lid assembly has a top lid and a bottom lid and a thermal paste. A felt gasket is preferably positioned between the lid assembly and the first and second walls. The first and second walls comprise at least two relief valves. One relief valve is a Flame Arresting/Smoke Particulate Filtration/Chemical Adsorption Unit Assembly and the valve is bi-directional. The thermal paste is preferably a flowable polymer based heat-absorbing material. The shipping container is stackable on a registration plate with other containers.

Foil bag, carbon containing nipple, nipple kit, carbon containing electrode, electrode kit, electrode-nipple system, furnace and method of operating the furnace

A carbon-containing nipple has a nipple thread for carbon-containing electrodes. The nipple has an inlet formed in the nipple thread and the inlet is suitable for receiving an adhesive container filled with a curable adhesive. Preferably, the inlet is a groove which runs through the nipple thread in a transverse manner and is undercut at least in sections. A nipple kit contains such a nipple and the adhesive container containing the adhesive for securing a nipple/electrode connection, wherein the adhesive container is disposed in the inlet. The nipple kit can be used in conjunction with a carbon-containing electrode for use in arc furnaces.

A cooler buddy has a generally rectangular, prismatic form. The invention floats and orients upright upon double walled construction. The invention has a rectangular lid upon an outer tub of hollow rectangular shape. The lid has a recess and a perimeter depending lip. At each corner, the lid has a thin tab for its removal from the outer tub. The outer tub has a base and a perimeter flange spaced above it. Inwardly, the invention has an inner pan of rectangular form but of less depth than the outer tub. The inner pan has its base and its perimeter flange. The two flanges join by welding leaving a space between the outer tub and the inner pan. The outer tub and the space cooperate to displace enough water to float the invention when loaded. The outer tub and the inner pan are transparent.
