Mobile charcoal/biochar production and pelletizer system and method thereof

Embodiments of the invention provide a portable charcoal system and method of operating thereof, wherein the portable charcoal system comprises a first compartment adapted to burn a material, a second compartment connected to the first compartment and adapted to receive the material from the first compartment, and a third compartment adapted to receive the material from the second compartment, the third compartment comprising an auger adapted to move the material from a back end to a front end, and out of the third compartment. The portable charcoal system further includes a source of air.

ENHANCED BIOCHAR

Biochar is provided that is treated to have certain chemical and physical properties found to have the highest impact on plant growth and/or soil health. In particular, the following physical and/or chemical properties, among others, of a biochar have been identified as critical properties to control for in the selection of biomass feedstock, pyrolysis conditions, and/or enhancing treatment to increase biochar performance: (i) bulk density (ii) impregnation capacity; (iii) particle size distribution; (iv) solid particle density; (v) surface area; (vi) porosity; (vii) total porosity; (viii) ratio of macroporosity to total porosity (ix) content of residual organic compounds; (x) content of volatile organic compounds; (xii) ash content; (xiii) water holding capacity; (xiv) water retention capabilities; (xv) levels of dioxins and other potentially hazardous byproducts of pyrolysis; and (xvi) pH. Treatment can modify and preferably increase hydrophilicity/decrease hydrophobicity, remove dioxins from the raw biochar, modify electrical conductivity and/or surface charge, modify cation exchange capacity and modify anion exchange capacity, among other things.

SPECIAL FILM-COATED CONTROLLED RELEASE FERTILIZER FOR PEANUT IN SALINE-ALKALI SOIL AND PREPARATION PROCESS THEREOF

The invention relates to the field of controlled release fertilizer technology, and in particular to a special film-coated controlled release fertilizer for peanut in saline-alkali soil, which comprises an outer layer, an intermediate layer and an inner layer, integrates the ingredients for salt resistance improvement, etiolated seedling prevention, disease and pest control, growth promotion and pod plumpness promotion, controls the release period, improves the fertilization efficiency without the need of top application throughout the growth period, and saves labor cost.

Biochar Aggregate Particles

Biochar aggregate particles are provided that are less than 5 mm and are comprised of biochar fines that are less than 1 mm and a binding agent. The binding agent may be clay, starch, a lignin, a polymer and/or a lipid. The biochar aggregate particles may also include additives and/or surfactants. The biochar fines may further be treated with a surfactant solution, a vacuum, ultrasonics or infused with any number of additives.

Method for Producing Biochar Aggregate Particles

A method for producing biochar aggregate particles that comprising the steps of (i) collecting or producing treated biochar fines less than 1 mm, (ii) adding a binding agent to the fines, (iii) forming the fines and binding agent into solid aggregate particles. The steps may further include, for example, adding additives to the fines, drying the solid aggregate particles, activing the binder after forming the solid aggregate particles with heat or cold temperatures and/or treating the biochar fines prior to forming the aggregate particles.

Erosion control substrate and methods of use

An erosion control slurry is disclosed. The slurry includes water and a substrate, wherein the substrate comprises: mulch at a weight of x; bentonite clay at a weight of about 0.25x to about 0.495x; and cellulosic water dispersible polymer or starch at a weight of about 0.0025x to about 0.125x. Also disclosed are a substrate that can be mixed with liquid to provide an erosion control slurry, and methods of controlling or reducing erosion.

Biochars for use in composting

A method and system is provided for using biochar in composting environments to control temperature, moisture, acid and pH levels, odors and bacterial cultures. The method further includes treating the biochar prior to combining it with the compost to further control such parameters.

Biochar suspended solution

A method is provided for producing a biochar solution. The method comprises the steps of collecting biochar particles, dispersing the biochar particles in a liquid solution and adding a stabilizing agent to keep the biochar in flowable suspension. The stabilizing agent may be added to the liquid solution or to the biochar prior to placing the biochar in solution.
