A multifunctional valve features an injection function, a vacuuming function, a devacuuming function with fast and slow mode, and a pressure regulating function. The valve can be implemented on any sealingly closed container having a removable lid or a bag having a resealable zipper or any other similar sealable feature. The valve also features a tethered plug with a latch system to secure it in place to additionally provide sealing. The valve is incorporated into a container with a removable lid for microwave pressure cooking. The same valve is incorporated into a plug to close an opening on a barrel.

The at least one paper layer at least regionally has a water-repellent/water-tight coating facing the sack exterior.

Flexible laminate structure with integrated one-way valve

A flexible laminate for a package is described that includes an integrated one-way valve that allows gas generated within the package (e.g., carbon dioxide outgas) to be released to the external environment, while at the same time preventing environmental elements from entering the package. The valve is defined by the layers that form the flexible laminate, as opposed to being a separate structure that is attached to the flexible laminate. In particular, first and second cut lines are defined in a valve area of the first and second film layers of the flexible laminate structure in an offset manner. Oil is pattern-applied to one or both film layers in the valve area, and an opposing surface of one or both of the film layers further includes a surface treatment that decreases the amount of surface energy between the film layers to allow the valve to open at the desired pressure.

Method for rehydration of lyophilized biologic materials

The present invention is a method and an apparatus for packaging lyophilized implants and other medical devices. In accordance with the invention, a lyophilized implant may be packaged for delivery to the surgical site in a sealed, flexible/expandable, sterile inner pouch. The inner pouch may be further packaged within an outer, sterile package. The inner pouch contains a resealable port through which rehydration liquid may be introduced into the inner pouch without opening the inner pouch. The inner pouch may be made of a flexible, substantially non-stretchable material so that the pouch can expand only to a predetermined maximum size to accept a predetermined volume of rehydration liquid. After rehydration, any excess rehydration liquid within the pouch may be removed via the same port. Next, the pouch is opened via a second opening to expose the implant for removal from the package.

There are a plurality of perforations formed in the main body portion and used for allowing a gas to pass though and resisting a liquid and/or particulates to pass though. A method of forming the hybrid-construct bag is also disclosed.

There is provided a method of making white sack paper having a grammage of 50-140 g/m2 and a Gurley porosity (ISO 5636/5) of 2-10 s, comprising the steps of: a) providing bleached pulp, such as bleached sulphate pulp; b) subjecting the pulp to high consistency (HC) refining and optionally low consistency (LC) refining to the extent that the sack paper obtains the Gurley porosity; c) adding cationic polymer, such as cationic starch, to the pulp in an amount of 1.5-5.0 kg/ton paper; and d) adding size to the pulp in an amount of 0.4-2.0 kg/ton paper; and e) forming the sack paper from the pulp, wherein less than 2 kg/ton paper of anionic starch is added to the pulp.
