Blood pump with reinforced catheter
An intravascular blood pump for percutaneous insertion comprises a catheter (10) and a pumping device (1) attached to the catheter (10). The catheter (10) extends along a longitudinal axis and has a distal end (11) and a proximal end (12) opposite the distal end (11). The catheter (10) comprises an elongate stiffening structure (15) extending continuously longitudinally along the length of the catheter (10) between the proximal end (11) and the distal end (12) of the catheter (10). The stiffening structure (15) may comprise a shape-memory material, such as Nitinol. It may be in the form of a wire that extends loosely through the lumen of the catheter and helps to avoid or significantly reduce kinks in the catheter.
Intelligent bioelectric module for use with drug delivery system
An intelligent bioelectric module for use with a drug delivery system has a case and a set of at least two electrodes in electrical communication with a detection surface of the case. The case is configured so that, in use, the detection surface comes into electrical communication with (i) a second surface of the delivery system when a first surface of the delivery system has been put into contact with a tissue surface of a human or animal subject or (ii) the tissue surface that is adjacent to a portion contacted by the first surface of the delivery system or (iii) both the second surface and the tissue surface.
Fast dissolving solid dosage form
There is provided a fast dissolving solid dosage form adapted for the release of a biologically active material in the oral cavity wherein the dosage form comprises at least one biologically active material, and at least one matrix forming agent, wherein the dosage form substantially dissolves in the oral cavity. A method of producing the same and a kit comprising the same are also provided.
System for monitoring safety in medication delivery for diabetes management
An integrated diabetes management (IDM) system includes a safety layer which, in one configuration has two components, one located between a glucose sensor and a controller and a second component located between a controller and a pump, to monitor various aspects of signals and modify those signals for compatibility and safety purposes. In one application, the safety layer receives output control signals from a controller and modifies those control signals as a function of an actual amount of insulin delivered to the user. The safety layer allows for an increased level of safety in the IDM system and permits development of separate hardware and software upgrades with the safety layer assuring that compatibility between components will continue.
Affinity based drug release formulations
The present application describes a two-step drug delivery formulation comprising a high affinity interaction between a drug conjugate and a compound, followed by introduction of a second compound with higher affinity to the drug conjugate to facilitate drug release. Delivery methods and specific interactions are also described.
Devices, formulations, and methods for delivery of multiple beneficial agents
The present invention relates to osmotic delivery devices, formulations, and methods for delivery of two or more beneficial agents. In one aspect, the present invention provides osmotic delivery devices useful for substantially concurrent administration of two or more beneficial agents. In another aspect, the present invention provides beneficial agent formulations for use in the osmotic delivery devices. The formulations include formulations wherein beneficial agents are soluble in the vehicle, suspension formulations comprising particle formulations of one or more beneficial agent, and combinations thereof. Further, methods for treatment of a variety of diseases or conditions using two or more beneficial agents are disclosed, wherein the methods are preferably practiced using the osmotic delivery devices and/or formulations of the invention.
Pharmaceutical antiretroviral composition
A pharmaceutical composition comprises at least one integrase inhibitor or its salt, solvate, complex, hydrate, isomer, ester, tautomer, anhydrate, enantiomer, polymorph or prodrug and at least one antiretroviral or anti-HIV agent or its salt, solvate, complex, hydrate, isomer, ester, tautomer, anhydrate, enantiomer, polymorph or prodrug.

Microchip medical substance delivery devices
Devices and methods are provided for controlled delivery of medical substances such as drugs and medication. For example, a microchip medical substance delivery device includes a control system, and a medical substance capsule that comprises a medical substance contained with a reservoir, and a release structure to release the medical substance from within the reservoir in response to an activation signal generated by the control system. The control system comprises a wireless signal receiving element, processor, actuator circuit, and power supply source. The wireless signal receiving element captures a wireless signal. The processor detects an activation code embedded within the captured wireless signal, and generates an actuator control signal in response to the detection of the activation code. The actuator circuit generates the activation signal in response to the actuator control signal generated by the processor. The power supply source provides power to operate components of the control system.
High Dosage Strength Tablets of Rucaparib
A tablet including high dosage of 8-fluoro-2-{4-[(methylamino)methyl]phenyl}-1,3,4,5-tetrahydro-6H-azepino[5,4,3-cd]indol-6-one camsylate salt has been disclosed.
