A method for producing a catalyst system for gas reactions comprising at least one planar structure of noble metal having gas-permeable openings, comprising the steps of:

(1) providing at least one noble metal powder consisting of at least substantially spherical noble metal particles, and

(2) repeatedly applying the noble metal powder or powders provided in step (1) in layers to a substrate in a build chamber, respectively followed by an at least partial melting of the respective noble metal powder applied as a layer with high-energy radiation, and allowing the melted noble metal powder to solidify within the scope of additive manufacturing.

The present invention relates to a process for conveniently preparing a supported cobalt-containing Fischer-Tropsch synthesis catalyst having improved activity and selectivity for C.sub.5+ hydrocarbons. In one aspect, the present invention provides a process for preparing a supported cobalt-containing Fischer-Tropsch synthesis catalyst, said process comprising the steps of: (a) impregnating a support material with: i) a cobalt-containing compound and ii) acetic acid, or a manganese salt of acetic acid, in a single impregnation step to form an impregnated support material; and (b) drying and calcining the impregnated support material; wherein the support material impregnated in step (a) has not previously been modified with a source of metal other than cobalt; and wherein when the cobalt-containing compound is cobalt hydroxide, a manganese salt of acetic acid is not used in step (a) of the process.

The invention relates to a method for the heterogeneous catalysis of a reaction for the hydrogenation of a carbon oxide in the gaseous state, such as a methanation reaction, using, in a reactor (1), carbon dioxide and gaseous dihydrogen and at least one solid catalytic compound capable of catalyzing said reaction in a given temperature range T, comprising contacting said gaseous reactant and said catalytic compound in the presence of a heating agent, and heating the heating agent to a temperature within said temperature range T. The method is characterized in that the heating agent comprises a ferromagnetic material in the form of micrometric powder and/or wires, said ferromagnetic material being heated by magnetic induction by means of a field inductor, such as a coil (2) external to the reactor (1). According to one embodiment, the catalyst support for implementing said method comprises a ferromagnetic material in the form of wires of micrometric diameters, on the surface of which metal catalyst particles are deposited.

Provided is also a high-performance gas sensor having excellent target gas detection performances by including the composite structure.
