The occurrence of the statistical event with respect to the corresponding portion of the content is determined based upon, at least in part, receiving the statistics. The action on the content is executed based upon, at least in part, determining the occurrence of the statistical event with respect to the corresponding portion of the content.

A method is provided for operating a communication controller coupling a device comprising a processor with a bus. The method comprises: receiving a plurality of types of data packets via the bus and processing received data packets before making available said received data packets to the device processor. The processing of received data packets comprises: evaluating each received data packet in accordance with predetermined criteria; rejecting any of the received data packets that fails to meet the predetermined criteria; identifying non-rejected data packets having high priority; identifying said non-rejected other data packets having lower priority; providing a high priority data path to the processor for the high priority data packets; providing at least one additional data path to the processor for the other data packets; and providing a high priority alert to the device processor to the presence of high priority data packets at the high priority channel.

This invention relates to a method for detecting faults in the operating states of a surgical robotic system, wherein the surgical robotic system including a master computer, a master embedded computer and a plurality of slave embedded computers is provided; the master computer controls the master embedded computer and the slave embedded computers via the LAN router; the master embedded computer communicates with the slave embedded computers via the LAN router and a first communication bus. In the present invention, the master computer, the master embedded computer and the slave embedded computers can detect faults interactively. Safety and reliability of the operation of the surgical robotic system can be improved without increasing any additional detection components, and communication burden of the system can be effectively reduced. The present invention can be widely applied to a minimally invasive surgical robotic system.

The present disclosure provides systems and methods for remote direct memory access (RDMA) with reduced latency. RDMA allows information to be transferred directly between memory buffers in networked devices without the need for substantial processing. While RDMA requires registration/deregistration for buffers that are not already preregistered, RDMA with reduced latency transfers information to intermediate buffers during registration/deregistration, utilizing time that would have ordinarily been wasted waiting for these processes to complete, and reducing the amount of information to transfer while the source buffer is registered. In this way the RDMA transaction may be completed more quickly. RDMA with reduced latency may be employed to expedite various information transactions. For example, RMDA with reduced latency may be utilized to stream information within a device, or may be used to transfer information for an information source external to the device directly to an application buffer.

Disclosed example methods for scheduling a computer-executable job include determining valid combinations of nodes and links from a network of nodes interconnected by links, the valid combinations of nodes and links having capability and capacity to complete the computer-executable job; determining, from the valid combinations of nodes and links, first combinations of nodes and links based on a total cost associated with execution of the computer-executable job on corresponding ones of the valid combinations of nodes and links; selecting one of the first combinations of nodes and links based on a load balancing status between the first combinations of nodes and links; and scheduling the computer-executable job to be executed by the one of the first combinations of nodes and links.
