TRACKING DATA USAGE UNDER A SCHEMATIZED DATA PLAN
Embodiments provide a schema for representing data usage plans and data usage statistics. The data usage plan describes threshold values associated with network connections of computing devices of the user. A web service dynamically generates data usage statistics for the computing devices to represent data consumed by the computing devices under the data usage plan. The schema is updated with the data usage statistics and distributed to the computing devices for presentation to the user.
Method and apparatus for reporting traffic and method and apparatus for counting network traffic
Provided are a method and an apparatus for reporting traffic and a method and an apparatus for counting network traffic. The method for reporting the traffic includes: an application acquires network traffic of the application (S102); and the application reports the network traffic (S104). Through the technical solution, the problem that the operator cannot master the traffic demands of application of a user side in different periods so that they cannot carry out operation and management according to the traffic use condition of application of the user side is solved. The operator can master the traffic use condition of application of the user side according to the network traffic reported by the application so as to operate and manage the network traffic according to the traffic use condition of the user, thereby improving the monitoring of the network traffic.
System and method for performing multi-enforcement point charging
Systems and methods for accomplishing charging operations in a communications network in which a plurality of charging and enforcement (CaE) components operate as enforcement points for a single data communication may include receiving in a server computing device usage records from a first CaE component and a second CaE component, generating correlated usage records by using a common Service Data Flow (SDF) to correlate the one or more usage records received from the first CaE component with the one or more records received from the second CaE component, and using the correlated usage records to determine a charge value that identifies correct charges to be applied.
Base station that confirm the intention of a user to continue a call
A radio communication control device accepts a call-up from a radio communication terminal and includes a unit configured to detect the degree of jamming in a cell, a unit configured to confirm the intention of a user of a terminal concerned as to whether the call-up is continued regardless of addition of an extra to the user's telephone call charge when the call-up has been made from a radio communication terminal in the cell concerned in a specific jammed state, a unit configured to block the call-up concerned in accordance with the confirmed intention of the user of the terminal concerned and a unit configured to change charge setting so as to add an extra to the user's telephone call charge when the call-up has not been blocked in the specific jammed state.

Devices for determining to terminate a charging session and systems thereof
The present invention aims to provide devices for determining to terminate a charging session and Systems thereof. A session termination decision device receives a decision request for terminating a charging processing of the current always on IP connectivity session from a charging session termination request device; the session termination decision device sends information relevant to a termination rule corresponding to the charging session of the current always on IP connectivity session to the initiating device for the charging session, in response to the decision request; and the initiating device for the charging session requests the OCS to terminate the charging session. Compared with the prior art, the present invention releases a Diameter charging session without totally removing the charging rules from IP-CAN, and keeps the IP-CAN session when there is no active service or data flow during long duration session, i.e. the always on IP connectivity session. It will significantly save System resources and reduce unnecessary charges to end users, and thus benefit both service providers and end users.
Methods and system for dynamic spectrum arbitrage policy driven quality of service
A dynamic spectrum arbitrage (DSA) system includes a dynamic spectrum policy controller (DPC) and a dynamic spectrum controller (DSC) that together dynamically manage the allocation and use of resources (e.g., spectrum resources) across different networks. The DSC component may include wired or wireless connections to eNodeBs, a policy and charging rules function (PCRF) component/server, and various other network components. The PCRF may be configured to receive eNodeB congestion state information from the eNodeB, information identifying wireless devices attached to the eNodeB, categorize each of the identified wireless devices into a category selected from a plurality of categories, select a subset of the identified wireless devices based on the category into which they are categorized, and perform congestion response operations on the selected wireless devices so as to reduce the congestion of the eNodeB.
Automated device provisioning and activation
A mobile device has a cellular network modem and a memory to store pre-activation credentials and permanent credentials. A processor is configured to, in an ambient access mode that uses the pre-activation credentials, provide network access control according to a pre-activation service policy that controls access to a first carrier access network. In this mode, an allowed network service activity is an activation sequence that connects the device to an Internet-connected activation server through the first carrier access network. The activation sequence presents carrier selections obtained from the activation server to a user, allows the user to select one of several carriers, and then negotiates with the activation server to obtain permanent credentials for the selected carrier.
DETECTION OF SMS SPAM
A method and system for identifying short message service (SMS) spammers identifies senders as spammers by determining that the senders are sending SMS messages to devices included in a grey phone space. Devices in the grey phone space are identified using various methods including an analysis of call detail records. A grey ratio for a sender is determined as a ratio of messages sent to grey phone numbers by the sender to messages sent to all phone numbers by the sender. A sender is identified based on a difference between the grey ratio for the sender and a second grey ratio being above a threshold.
Femtocell local breakout mechanisms
Local breakout mechanisms can be performed by a femto access point (FAP) to facilitate efficient utilization of backhaul and/or macro networks. In particular, a slave Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN) can be integrated within the FAP to directly route the incoming traffic from a user equipment (UE) at the FAP. In one example, Internet bound traffic can be directly routed to the Internet, without employing macro network resources. Further, the system can avoid hairpinning by routing traffic between the UE and a home Local Area Network (LAN) by a anchoring a call or a session in the slave GGSN and facilitate integration of UEs with home applications by employing a UE Digital Home Agent. In addition, the FAP can perform UE-to-UE CS media breakout to facilitate communication between UEs attached to the FAP, without routing the traffic through the core macro network.
