Electrochemical cell for wastewater treatment with increased removal rates of pollutants
An electrochemical cell for wastewater treatment is disclosed comprising a catalyst coated membrane, an open pore mesh placed next to the catalyst coated membrane, on each side of the membrane, and a compression frame placed next to each of the open pore meshes. The open pore meshes and the compression frames are made of a conductive material. Each compression frame has compression arms spread within the area delimited by the perimeter of the frame to apply a uniform compression force across the anode and cathode active areas through fasteners which protrude through the compression arms, the open pore meshes and the catalyst coated membrane. A stack comprising at least one such electrochemical cell is immersed in a reactor tank containing the wastewater to be treated.

The intermediate neutral plates are arranged in interleaved sets between an anode and a cathode. Other features of the aqueous reactor may include a sealed reaction vessel, fluid circulation manifold, electrical power modulator, vacuum port, and barrier membrane. Methods of using the field generator include immersion in an electrolyte solution and application of an external voltage and vacuum to generate hydrogen and oxygen gases. The reactor and related components can be arranged to produce gaseous fuel or liquid fuel. In one use, a mixture of a carbon based material and a liquid hydrocarbon is added. The preferred carbon based material is powdered coal.
STACKING TYPE HYDROGEN GENERATING DEVICE
The present invention provides a stacking type hydrogen generating device comprising an electrolysis module, a water tank, a filter and a humidifier. The electrolysis module is disposed in the water tank, the humidifier vertically stacked above the water tank, and the filter vertically stacked above the humidifier. A gas comprising hydrogen generated by the electrolysis module can enter the filter through the first flow channel of the humidifier and enter the humidifier after filtered by the filter. The flow channels between the aforementioned units are respectively integrated with the aforementioned units. Accordingly, the volume and the pipelines of the stacking type hydrogen generating device could be decrease and safety could be improved.

The electrolyzer 300 includes an anode 314, an anode chamber 310 housing the anode 314, a cathode 330, a cathode chamber 320 housing the cathode 330, and a diaphragm that separates the anode chamber 310 and the cathode chamber 320, wherein a reverse current absorption body 334 formed of a sintered compact containing nickel is disposed in at least one of an inside of the cathode chamber 320 and an inside of the anode chamber 310, and the reverse current absorption body 334 is not directly coupled to the cathode 330 and the anode 314 but is electrically connected to at least one of the cathode 330 and the anode 314.
Cell stack device, module, and module-containing device
A cell stack device (1) according to the present invention includes a plurality of cells (3) having a columnar shape; and electrically conductive members (4) interposed between adjacent cells (3) of the plurality of cells (3), and connected to the each adjacent cell (3) with a bonding material (15) having electrically conductive property. The bonding material (15) contains electrically conductive particles and fibrous bodies (16) having electrically insulating properties, and a major axis direction of the fibrous bodies (16) is oriented in a predetermined direction in regions where the electrically conductive members (4) face to the each adjacent cell (3).
Electrochemical cell carrier seal and processes for manufacturing and fitting said seal
A seal is mountable in contact with two metal carriers of an electrochemical device, in particular a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) or a high-temperature solid oxide electrolyser cell (SOEC) for electrolysis of water vapour. This seal comprises a means for making the seal impermeable, comprising at least one vitreous material; and an electrically insulating supporting means that supports the impermeable means and that has two parallel main faces, an external peripheral edge and an internal peripheral edge, the seal being able to be mounted against these carriers via these main faces, which are covered with the impermeable means. The impermeable means partitions the supporting means between these internal and external edges while extending continuously from one of the main faces to the other through the supporting means, so that the impermeable means directly connects these carriers to each other.
