Cement products and methods of making and using the same

Disclosed are cement products, methods of forming cement using the cement product, and methods of using the cement product in orthopedic and dental applications. Generally, the disclosed cement product includes a first component and a second component. The first component comprises a polymerizable resin comprising ethylenic unsaturated double bond, a suitable glycidyl group and/or a suitable isocyanate group. The second component includes a compound comprising more than one type of amine selected from the group consisting of primary amine, secondary amines, tertiary amines and quaternary amines. Alternatively, the second component includes a compound comprising a suitable mercapto (SH) group, a hindered amine or a dimethylthiotoluenediamine (DMTDA). Optionally, the cement product includes a filler and/or a bioactive component to promote bone formation.

POLYARYLETHERKETONE DENTAL BLOCK FOR CAD/CAM MILLING

A method of making a prosthetic dental item comprises selecting a block having a square or rectangular cross-section along is extent, wherein said block comprises polyetheretherketone and, optionally, an apatite, wherein said polymeric material has a crystallinity of at least 25%. The method comprises machining the block in dependence upon data collated using digital technology. Since the crystallinity of the material selected is high, a post-machining step whereby crystallinity is increased can be avoided, and dental items of high precision can be formed.

Compositions containing theobromine and their use in treating tooth hypersensitivity

Compositions and methods for reducing oral sensitivity, increasing the systemic health of a mammal, occluding a dentinal tubule within a mammalian tooth, and/or depositing a precipitate on the surface of a mammalian tooth are provided, said compositions comprising theobromine (3,7-dimethylxanthine, the principal alkaloid in Theobroma cacao).

One-component-type dentinal tubule sealant

A dentinal tubule sealant including apatite particles (A) having an average particle diameter of 500 nm or less, a filler (B) having an average particle diameter of 1 to 10 m, and a dispersant (C), wherein the weight ratio (A/B) of the apatite particles (A) to the filler (B) is 0.05 to 15, the dentinal tubule sealant contains 15 to 95 parts by weight of the dispersant (C) relative to 100 parts by weight in total of the apatite particles (A) and the filler (B), and the total amount of the apatite particles (A), the filler (B), and the dispersant (C) is 85 parts by weight or more relative to 100 parts by weight of the dentinal tubule sealant. There is thereby provided a dentinal tubule sealant excelling in dentinal tubule sealability immediately after treatment, durability of dentinal tubule sealing, ease of operation, and storage stability.

DENTAL COMPOSITION

Disclosed herein is a dental composition having a polymerization initiator system with an aromatic tertiary phosphine compound. Further disclosed is the use of the aromatic tertiary phospine compound for the preparation of a photocurable dental compositions.

DEPOSITION OF DISCRETE NANOPARTICLES ON AN IMPLANT SURFACE
20180085199 · 2018-03-29 ·

A method of forming a nanocrystalline surface on an implant is disclosed. The method comprises the act of roughening at least a portion of the implant surface to form a roughened surface. The method further comprises the act of, without forming an alkoxide on the roughened surface, depositing nanocrystals on the roughened surface. The nanocrystals comprise a material having a property that promotes osseointegration.

Methods of treatment of the dental pulp and filling root canals using water-based material

A dental composition comprising: a) about 1 to about 80% by weight of particulate material including: (i) calcium silicate, calcium aluminate, tetracalcium aluminoferrite, calcium phosphate, calcium sulfate, silica, alumina, calcium oxide, calcium hydroxide, or mixtures thereof; wherein the particulate material has an average particle size of less than 40 microns; and b) about 1 to about 50% by weight liquid carrier including: (i) water-soluble polymer, and (ii) water.

Composition for preventing or treating dentin-associated symptoms or diseases, and method using the same

Provided is a formulation for oral teeth, which includes a plurality of calcium ion carriers and a plurality of calcium-containing particulates. The particulates are carried by the calcium ion carriers, such that the formulation can prevent or rapidly treat dentin-associated symptoms or diseases, while providing a prolonged prophylactic or therapeutic effect.

Production of dental shaped parts composed of porous glass

The invention discloses a blank for producing dental shaped parts which consists entirely of porous glass without crystalline portions. The density of the blank is between 50% and 95% of its theoretical density. It has a discoidal shape with a diameter of at least 20 mm. The blank is produced by a process in which glass powder is first pressed at a pressure of between 10 MPa and 300 MPa and this green body is (pre-)sintered at a temperature of between 580 C. and 750 C. to form a blank of porous glass without crystalline portions. From the obtained blank, monolithic dental shaped parts can be obtained by mechanical processing followed by sintering, wherein a process according to the invention for stabilizing the shape of the shaped parts is used.
