Methods and systems are provided for locking assemblies of a pair of bridge plates placed between adjacent railcars. In one example, a bridge plate assembly may include a locking assembly with a guide tube shifted to a side from a center of a bridge plate and a pivot pin coupled to the guide tube protruding out of a left side or a right side of the bridge plate.

Auto-rack railroad car door locking assembly splice

In various embodiments, the present disclosure provides an door locking assembly splice including an extension tube having opposing top and bottom ends, a lock rod connection assembly connected to the top end of the extension tube, a handle connection assembly connected to the extension tube between the top end and the bottom end of the extension tube, and a cam assembly connected to the bottom end of the extension tube, that enables a damaged door rod locking assembly to be easily, quickly, and efficiently repaired.

Provided is a goods wagon for transporting goods, having a head piece at a front end of the goods wagon, an end piece at a rear end of the goods wagon and two side members extending between the head piece and the end piece. A basin for goods is provided, which defines a basin loading surface, and the side members defining a pocket into which the basin is inserted. On the side members fastening elements for the basin are provided, which predefine a loading position in the pocket of the goods wagon for the basin in which the basin loading surface is situated lower than a loading surface provided on the head piece and is situated lower than a loading surface provided on the end piece.

LOADING ASSEMBLY FOR A VEHICLE

An assembly is provided that may include a platform that may be coupled with a vehicle. The platform may rotate from a first platform position to a second platform position relative to a chassis of the vehicle. The assembly may include an extendable ramp coupled to the platform and configured to extend relative to the platform from a first ramp position to a second ramp position. This ramp may be positioned in the second platform position to allow a second vehicle to be driven up the ramp and onto the first vehicle, with the ramp then moved to the first platform position to allow the first vehicle to carry the second vehicle to another location. The ramp can be moved to the first platform position to the second platform position to allow the second vehicle to disembark from the first vehicle and travel separately from the first vehicle.

RETENTION AND LOADING AND UNLOADING IN HIGH SPEED TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS

Techniques for injecting a vehicle into a high speed transportation system are described. A travel request is received from a user. The user is determined to be authorized to travel using the high speed transportation system, based on a profile associated with the user. An injection portal for the user to enter the transportation system is identified. One or more instructions for the user are provided, relating to the injection portal. A vehicle associated with the user is identified at the injection portal. Characteristics of the vehicle are sensed at the injection portal, including a center of gravity of the vehicle. The characteristics are determined to satisfy threshold values, and the vehicle is authorized for travel in the transportation system. A vehicle profile is generated. The vehicle profile is transmitted to a second controller associated with the transportation system. The vehicle is injected into the transportation system.

AUTORACK DECK ADJUSTMENTS

An unconventional coupler assists in adjusting the height of a deck in an autorack car. The coupler allows the deck to couple to an adjustment mechanism (e.g., a ball screw) that can adjust the height of the deck. When the deck is repositioned, the coupler allows the deck to decouple from the adjustment mechanism.

Railcar bridge plate kit retainer

A retaining apparatus includes a retaining catch and a latch. The retaining catch is attached at a first end of a bridge plate kit of the railcar. The latch is disposed on a deck of the railcar. The latch includes a stationary portion attached to the deck and a pendulum portion rotationally coupled to the stationary portion. The pendulum portion rotates about an axis in and through the stationary portion. The pendulum portion includes a stop preventing rotation of the pendulum portion through the stationary portion beyond a stop angle. The retaining catch causes the pendulum portion to rotate from a first position to a second position away from the bridge plate kit. The pendulum portion rotates back to the first position after the bridge plate kit has been flipped over. The pendulum portion in the first position retains the bridge plate kit in the flipped over position.

ARTICULATED RAIL COUPLER

An articulated rail coupler comprises a base member, a female connecting member, a male connecting member, a bearing race, a first bearing seated within the bearing race and defining a vertical axis of rotation, and a second or a coupler bearing configured and sized to be received within a truck bogie bearing bowl. The male connecting member is allowed to rotate relative to the female connecting member about the vertical axis of rotation in a range of about ninety degrees, when the male connecting member and the female connecting member are coupled therebetween by the first bearing.

Loading/unloading system and vehicle interface for a transportation system and methods of use

A modular loading and unloading system for a high-speed transportation system, the system including an airlock loading zone, at least one airlock arranged in the airlock loading zone and connecting the airlock loading zone to a transportation tube of the high-speed transportation system. The airlock loading zone is configured to receive a plurality of capsules, payloads, and/or cars, and is operable to arrange the plurality of capsules, payloads, and/or cars for insertion into a high-speed transportation vehicle arranged in the airlock.
