Power gap adjustable flex bat
The invention describes a bat for baseball or softball having a composite or metallic outer barrel and an insert assembly formed from composite or metallic materials and soft foam materials. The invention describes a number of embodiments of the insert assembly which may include adjustable floating or fixed power cones and adjustable sleeves, as well as a dual wall construction with the radially outer wall having an annular gap to allow limited directional flex of the radially outer wall of the insert assembly upon impact with a ball.
Double-barrel ball bats
A ball bat includes an outer shell and an insert positioned in a ball striking area of the outer shell. The insert may include a tube element and one or more spacer elements positioned to form a gap between the tube element and the outer shell along at least a portion of a length of the tube element. In some embodiments, the insert or the gap may extend along only the length of the ball striking area. The outer shell may provide some compliance during a hit to create a trampoline effect, while the insert may provide a backstop to limit radial deflection of the outer shell.
Batting glove and cushioning apparatus
A batting glove (10) has a cover member (12) defining a central opening and a plurality of finger elements (20) including a forefinger element (24) and a thumb element (22). The batting glove (10) has a web member (14) generally positioned between the finger element (20) and the thumb element (22). The web member (14) minimizes force against a thenar region of a wearer's hand from a bat in response to hitting a ball with the bat.

A method of making weighted training equipment with a hollow shaft having a sidewall defining an internal cavity may include injecting a curable composition into at least a portion of the internal cavity. The method may further include curing the curable composition into a polymer material.
Systems and methods for tracking sports balls configured with electronic components
Systems and methods for tracking a sports ball assembly in real time during a sporting event are disclosed. A structure of the sports ball assembly is also disclosed. The sports ball assembly comprises at least one electronic circuit embedded or attached to a sports ball. The sports ball assembly is in network communication with a processor via at least two receivers within a sports arena. The sports ball assembly generates and transmits UWB data packets comprising movement-related data for the sports ball assembly in real time at a predetermined rate. The at least two receivers receive the UWB data packets and transmit to the processor with time stamps. The processor is operable to determine a movement of the sports ball assembly based on the UWB data packets and the time stamps received from the at least two receivers.

The invention further includes a finger or thumb stall having a transverse expansion zone and/or a longitudinal expansion zone comprised of expandable material for accommodating fingers of varying sizes.

A system and method for monitoring performance of a physical exercise routine. The system comprises a plurality of motion and position sensors configured to generate sensory information including at least a rate of movements of a user performing the physical exercise routine; a database containing routine information representing at least an optimal execution of the physical exercise routine; a training module configured to: compare the generated sensory information to the routine information to detect at least dissimilarities respective thereof, wherein the dissimilarities indicate if the pace of performing the physical exercise routine is incorrect; provide feedback to the user with at least instructions related to correcting the pace of performing the physical exercise routine; and a display for displaying the feedback.
Baseball or softball glove
The baseball or softball glove includes a thumb part, an index finger pan, and a web. The web includes a first protrusion and a second protrusion. The first protrusion has a first through hole. The second protrusion has a second through hole. At least either the first through hole or the second through hole has an inclined edge that extends obliquely upward from a base of the thumb part or the index finger part on a peripheral edge forming the through hole. The first protrusion and the second protrusion are engaged with each other in a state where the first through hole and the second through hole are connected to each other in a chain shape.

A ball bat includes a barrel wall with a composite laminate structure that includes an outwardly facing skin, an inwardly facing skin, a stack of composite laminate plies positioned between the outwardly facing skin and the inwardly facing skin, and a discontinuity in the stack forming a gap along a longitudinal axis of the bat. A rigid or semi-rigid appliance may be positioned in the gap. The appliance may be a ring element, which may have a cross-section that traverses the composite laminate plies in the stack in a direction that is perpendicular or oblique to the longitudinal axis of the bat. The cross-section of the ring element may be triangular. A second ring element may be positioned in the barrel wall. The second ring element may be connected to the other ring element with an adhesive bond or a connecting element.
