Fluid system with integrated disinfecting optics
12257373 · 2025-03-25 ·

A fluid disinfecting system includes a straight fluid directing conduit and a light source disposed on a side of the fluid directing conduit. The light source is operative to emit ultraviolet light into the fluid directing conduit, such that one or more cross sections of said fluid directing conduit are saturated with ultraviolet light. Any fluid passing through the fluid directing conduit is necessarily exposed to the ultraviolet light.

Magnetic filter

A magnetic filter is disclosed suitable for use in large heating and/or cooling systems, for example heating systems using pipework between 2 inch bore and 4 inch bore. The magnetic filter includes a separation chamber in the form of a pipe, and externally-mounted magnetic 5 assemblies which are movable from a position close to the pipe to a position spaced from the pipe. The magnetic assemblies are pivotally mounted to the pipe via a framework.

Cooling water monitoring and control system

A method of controlling cooling water treatment may involve measuring operating data of one or more downstream heat exchangers that receive cooling water from the cooling tower. For example, the inlet and outlet temperatures of both the hot and cold streams of a downstream heat exchanger may be measured. Data from the streams passing through the heat exchanger may be used to determine a heat transfer efficiency for the heat exchanger. The heat transfer efficiency can be trended over a period of time and changes in the trend detected to identify cooling water fouling issues. Multiple potential causes of the perceived fouling issues can be evaluated to determine a predicted cause. A chemical additive selected to reduce, eliminate, or otherwise control the cooling water fouling can be controlled based on the predicted cause of the fouling.

Fluid preparation and treatment devices methods and systems

Methods, device, and systems for preparing peritoneal dialysis fluid and/or administering a peritoneal dialysis treatment are disclosed. In embodiments, peritoneal dialysis fluid is prepared at a point of use automatically using a daily sterile disposable fluid circuit and one or more long-term concentrate containers that are changed only after multiple days (e.g. weekly). The daily disposable may have concentrate containers that are initially empty and are filled from the long-term concentrate containers once per day at the beginning of a treatment.

A hydrogen addition device adds hydrogen to a biocompatible solution of a liquid containing body formed by the biocompatible solution sealed in a molecular hydrogen permeable container. The hydrogen addition device is provided with a tank for housing the unopened liquid containing body, a hydrogen water generator for producing dissolved hydrogen water formed by water with hydrogen dissolved therein to supply to the tank, and a heating portion for heating the dissolved hydrogen water in the tank to warm the biocompatible solution of the liquid containing body.

USE OF A BASIC OXYGEN FURNACE TO PRODUCE GRANULATED METALLIC UNITS, AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS

Systems and methods for using a liquid hot metal processing unit to produce granulated metallic units (GMUs) are disclosed herein. In some embodiments of the present technology, a liquid hot metal processing system for producing GMUs comprises a liquid hot metal processing unit including a granulator unit. The granulator unit can include a tilter positioned to receive and tilt a ladle, a controller operably coupled to the tilter to control tilting of the ladle, a tundish positioned to receive the molten metallics from the ladle, and a reactor positioned to receive the molten metallics from the tundish. The reactor can be configured to cool the molten metallics to form granulated metallic units (GMUs).

Generate hydrogen as fuel at natural gas processing plant to reduce carbon dioxide emissions

Operating a natural gas processing plant, including receiving feed natural gas and processing the feed natural gas to give product natural gas. The processing includes removing acid gas, water, and non-methane hydrocarbons from the feed natural gas. The method includes providing fuel to a furnace and combusting the fuel in the furnace to heat a boiler to generate steam. The method generating steam with an HRSG. The method includes subjecting blowdown water from the boiler and the HRSG to electrolysis, thereby generating hydrogen gas. The method includes combining the hydrogen gas with the fuel and combusting the hydrogen gas in the furnace.

Water preparation apparatus with a chlorine sensing system

A water preparation apparatus for determining an amount of total chlorine in purified water is disclosed. The water preparation apparatus includes a chlorine sensing system, a water pretreatment filter, a reverse osmosis filter, and an electrodeionization (EDI) module. The chlorine sensing system is configured to determine an amount of total chlorine in the purified water by applying, at a first time, a source voltage to the purified water and removing, at a second time, the source voltage. The chlorine sensing system then measures, after the second time, an electrical parameter of the purified water. The chlorine sensing system determines the amount of total chlorine in the purified water based on the measured electrical parameter.
