The invention provides a light generating system (1000) configured to generate system light (1001), wherein the light generating system (1000) comprises a first light generating device (110), wherein: (A) the first light generating device (110) comprises a first light source (10) and a first luminescent converter (210); (B) the first light source (10) comprises a solid state light source, wherein the first light source (10) is configured to generate first light source light (11) having a first light source centroid wavelength (.sub.s,1) selected from the range of 380-420 inn; (C) the first luminescent converter (210) is configured to convert at least part of the first light source light (11) into first converter light (211) having a first converter centroid wavelength (.sub.c, 1) selected from the green-yellow wavelength range; (D) the first light generating device (110) is configured to generate first device light (111) having a spectral power distribution in the wavelength range of 380-780 nm with at least 60% of the spectral power provided by the first light source light (11) and at maximum 40% of the spectral power provided by the first converter light (211).
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PORTABLE, SAFETY LIGHTING
A lighting system includes a top housing, a bottom housing, and lens arranged between the top housing and the bottom housing. The lens includes a plurality of side surfaces that extend between the top housing and the bottom housing to form a perimeter of the lens. A plurality of lighting elements are configured to direct an emission of light out of the plurality of side surfaces. A controller is configured to selectively energize the plurality of lighting elements based on a first signal from a GPS module.

An electronic necklace comprising a projector medallion and associated methods of formation are described, and more particularly to an electronic necklace with one power source for powering a projector medallion and necklace bulbs and its associated methods of formation. In one embodiment, an apparatus may include a wire serving as a necklace strand with a projector medallion formed of a translucent material including a backside, a front side, an underside, and/or an interior. The necklace may include a power source in the form of a battery. The necklace may include a projector light and/or a medallion light within the interior of the projector medallion. The necklace may include a control chip within the interior of the projector medallion that may distribute power from the battery to the wire, the projector light, and/or the medallion light.
Hybrid laser and LED based illumination device
Methods and systems for combining electrically isolated LEDs and one or more laser diodes into a hybrid illumination device are presented herein. A hybrid LED and laser diode based illumination device includes both electrically isolated LEDs and one or more laser diodes assembled on common metal core printed circuit board. Employing electrically isolated LEDs allows the electrical connection of multiple LEDs in series on the common metal core printed circuit board with high spatial density. In some embodiments, a laser diode source is located within a spatial envelope of an LED array to realize a particularly compact, high optical power, hybrid LED and laser diode based illumination device with a relatively small illumination source etendue. In a further aspect, different sets of LEDs and one or more laser diodes are independently controlled to generate illumination with different spectral characteristics.
