A method and apparatus for the additive manufacturing of three-dimensional objects are disclosed. Two or more materials are extruded simultaneously as a composite, with at least one material in liquid form and at least one material in a solid continuous strand completely encased within the liquid material. A means of curing the liquid material after extrusion hardens the composite. A part is constructed using a series of extruded composite paths. The strand material within the composite contains specific chemical, mechanical, or electrical characteristics that instill the object with enhanced capabilities not possible with only one material.

Solid surface material

A solid surface material apparatus and process is disclosed which comprises a first solid material comprising acrylic modified polyester resin, at least one natural mineral filler, and at least one colorant and/or at least one granule configured in a sheet with at least one channel cut into the top surface of it and a second solid surface material comprising an acrylic modified polyester resin, at least one natural mineral filler, and at least one colorant and/or at least one granule which at least partially fills the at least one channel of the first solid surface material.

Solid-state additive manufacturing methods for compounding conductive polymer compositions

Solid-state additive manufacturing methods for compounding conductive plastic compositions, fabrication of conductive plastic parts and conductive coatings, and plastic recycling are disclosed. Electrically conductive or thermally conductive plastic compositions are compounded and subsequently printed with the solid-state additive manufacturing system. The solid-state fabricated compositions, parts and coatings can also be manufactured to be both thermally and electrically conductive. Solid-state plastic waste recycling methods are also disclosed where various plastic waste materials and shapes are solid-state processed. The plastic waste can be mixed with virgin plastic material or mixed with other types of materials such as metals, ceramics or their combination. The waste plastic feedstock is reinforced with different types of reinforcing particles or fibers, or various additives are added for improving properties of the final deposits.

Composition and method to form a composite core material

A composite core material and methods for making same are disclosed herein. The composite core material comprises mineral filler discontinuous portions disposed in a continuous encapsulating resin. Further, the method for forming a composite core material comprises the steps of forming a mixture comprising mineral filler, an encapsulating prepolymer, and a polymerization catalyst; disposing the mixture onto a moving belt; and polymerizing said encapsulating prepolymer to form a composite core material comprising mineral filler discontinuous portions disposed in a continuous encapsulating resin.

Polypropylene composition with improved processability and impact strength

The present invention relates to heterophasic polypropylene compositions comprising a propylene homo- or copolymer forming a crystalline fraction as a matrix and an amorphous propylene ethylene elastomer as a soluble fraction dispersed in said matrix. The heterophasic polypropylene compositions further comprise an elastomeric ethylene/alpha-olefin random copolymer. The heterophasic polypropylene compositions have a well-balanced relation between stiffness and impact strength, low volatile and semi-volatile emissions and good processability.
