Integrated single and twin screw extruder

An extruder is disclosed, and more particularly, to an integrated single screw extruder and a twin screw extruder for mixing, compounding, kneading and/or extruding of materials. The integrated extruder includes a first barrel assembly and a second barrel assembly. The integrated extruder further includes a first screw having a first threaded portion and a second threaded portion. The first threaded portion is housed within the first barrel assembly and is configured to provide upstream material processing. The second threaded portion is housed within the second barrel assembly and is configured to provide downstream material processing. The integrated extruder further includes a second screw having a non-threaded shaft portion and a threaded portion. The threaded portion of the second screw is housed within the second barrel assembly and is configured to provide the downstream material processing with the second threaded portion of the first screw.

BEAD APEX RUBBER-FORMING METHOD, AND BEAD APEX RUBBER-FORMING DEVICE

The present invention forms bead apex rubber with good precision on the outer circumferential surface of the bead core. A molding process, in which unvulcanized rubber is made to flow into a bead apex molding chamber that is surrounded by surfaces that include the outer circumferential surface of a circular bead core and the bead apex rubber is formed directly on the outer circumferential surface of the bead core that is rotating around the core axis, is provided. The molding process comprises: a tip forming step that forms the leading end of the bead apex rubber; a middle section forming step that sequentially forms the bead apex rubber to be continuous with the leading end; and a joining step to join the back end and the leading end of the bead apex rubber by inflowing the unvulcanized rubber therebetween.

System and method for continuously manufacturing cured membranes

A method of continuously manufacturing a cured membrane includes continuously compounding and mixing a vulcanizable rubber composition in a mixing extruder while continuously removing gasses from the vulcanizable rubber composition during mixing with a vacuum. The vulcanizable rubber composition may be continuously extruded to form an extrudate, which may be continuously calendered to form a green membrane. The green membrane may be continuously cured, such as by a hot air conveyor curing system, to form a cured membrane.

Device and method for the homogenisation of plastics material melts
10093034 · 2018-10-09 · ·

A device, to homogenise plastics material melts, has a homogenising element with a plurality of flow channels, which differ with respect to at least one feature from the group length, cross sectional area and cross sectional shape. When flowing through the homogenising element, the plastics material melt is divided into a plurality of part streams, which, in each case, flow through an associated flow channel. When leaving the respective flow channel the part streams have different flow speeds so the plastics material melt is expanded and sheared on transition to a uniform flow. As a result, a homogenisation of the plastics material melt takes place in a simple, efficient and effective manner.

Polyester composition, electronic device, and method of forming film

Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a film. 50 wt % to 85 wt % of a first polyester and 50 wt % to 15 wt % of a second polyester are dried and mixed to form a mixture. The first polyester is polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), or combinations thereof. The second polyester is copolymerized of 1 part by mole of terephthalic acid, m parts by mole of 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol (1,4-CHDM), n parts by mole of 1,3-cyclohexanedimethanol (1,3-CHDM), and o parts by mole of ethylene glycol (EG). m+n+o=1, 0o0.4, 0.6m+n1, and 0.06n/m1.31. The mixture is melted and blended to form a polyester composition, which is extruded to form a sheet. The sheet is then biaxially stretched to obtain a film. The biaxially stretched film is then treated with a thermal setting.

PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR BORDERING A CORRUGATED PLASTIC PANEL AND PANEL THUS OBTAINED
20180264758 · 2018-09-20 · ·

The present invention is related to a process for bordering a corrugated plastic panel and to a panel obtained through that process. In particular, the invention is related to a process for making a corrugated plastic panel comprising a bordering made in-line or out-line in order to close the openings outwards. The invention is also related to an apparatus for bordering according to that process. The panel is sealed and shock resistant thanks to the laying of thermoplastic elastomeric material.
