METHOD FOR PRODUCING THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER COMPOSITION
Provided is a method in which a polyisobutylene having a peak top molecular weight (Mp) of 5,000 to 80,000 is easily supplied to a hydrogenated block copolymer to stably produce a thermoplastic polymer composition. Specifically, provided is a method for producing a thermoplastic polymer composition containing a hydrogenated block copolymer (a) and a polyisobutylene (b) having a peak top molecular weight (Mp) of 5,000 to 80,000 expressed in terms of standard polystyrene as determined by gel permeation chromatography, the method including a following first step and a following second step.
First step: a step of supplying the polyisobutylene (b) to a twin-screw/single-screw extruder of a counter-rotating type, to plasticize the polyisobutylene (b).
Second step: a step including a following step (i) and a following step (ii): (i) a step of supplying the hydrogenated block copolymer (a) to a twin-screw extruder; and (ii) a step of supplying the polyisobutylene (b) plasticized in the first step to the twin-screw extruder via a quantitative pump and kneading the polyisobutylene (b) together with the hydrogenated block copolymer (a) supplied in the step (i).
EXTRUDER
An extruder has a barrel extending from a feed inlet end to an extruder outlet end. The barrel has an inner surface, an outer surface, and a wall thickness between the inner and outer surfaces. The extruder also has at least one heating member positioned provided on the barrel; a screw drive motor drivingly connected to a rotatably mounted screw positioned within the barrel, whereby the screw is rotatable at various revolutions per minute (RPM); and a controller is operably connected to the screw drive motor to adjust the RPM of the screw based upon a temperature of material passing through and/or being extruded from the barrel. Methods for operating an extruder filling a mold are also provided.

In various embodiments, a device for producing a high density compact livestock feed from a loose granular material according to various embodiment can include a source for supplying a loose granular material to be treated and moving the treated material through a series of successive treatment zones. Rotatable screws are provided within an extruder to compress and transport the treated material a die. The treated material is pressed through the die while a two-dimensional cross-section compression is applied to the treated material. In various embodiments, the high density compact livestock feed is produced having a high protein content, a high fat content, high shipping durability, high quality, and high nutritional value, without the addition of additives.

Peroxide treated metallocene-based polyolefins with improved melt strength
Disclosed herein are ethylene-based polymers having low densities and narrow molecular weight distributions, but high melt strengths for blown film processing. Such polymers can be produced by peroxide-treating a metallocene-catalyzed resin.

A method for forming a cylindrical rubber member includes bringing a die 11 close to a forming drum 2, forming a winding start portion S1 by extruding a rubber S and simultaneously starting to rotate the forming drum 2 to gradually increase an extruding amount to an amount Q1 and gradually increase a distance between the die 11 and the forming drum 2 to a distance D2 corresponding to a desired thickness of the cylindrical rubber member, winding the rubber S by maintaining the extruding amount at the amount Q1, and maintaining the distance between the die 11 and the forming drum 2 at the distance D2, and forming a winding end portion S2 on the winding start portion S1 by maintaining the distance between the die 11 and the forming drum 2 at the distance D2 and gradually reducing the extruding amount from the amount Q1.
TYRE STRIP EXTRUSION APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING TREAD AND/OR SIDE STRIPS FOR TYRES, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A TREAD OR SIDE STRIP OF A TYRE
A tyre strip extrusion apparatus includes extruders and an extrusion head which includes a head housing having feed openings respectively connected to the extruders for feed of extrusion material. An injection moulding tool is connected to the head housing and includes a profile plate formed with an outlet opening which communicates with the feed openings for extrusion material to flow from the feed openings to the outlet opening for extruding a web from the extrusion material. Bearing against the head housing along a first parting surface is a first distributor plate. A second distributor plate is arranged upstream of the profile plate in flow direction of the extrusion material. The first distributor plate bears along a second parting surface against the second distributor plate. The first and second distributor plates are configured such that at least a majority of the material paths runs through the first and second parting surfaces.
PIN EXTRUDER
In an embodiment, the present invention provides a pin extruder, including a screw conveyor for conveying plastics, the screw conveyor having a plurality of pins each arranged in a respective pin row, the pin rows being arranged in a plurality of consecutive planes in a conveying direction of the screw conveyor. A distance between the planes of at least individual pin rows varies in the conveying direction.
