METHOD FOR RELEASING THE ROTOR POLES IN AN ELECTRICAL MACHINE
20170047825 · 2017-02-16 ·

A method releases rotor poles of a large electrical machine from the rotor hub, which in the fitted state is located within the stator. In one method step, at least one device is introduced into the air gap between the sector and a rotor pole to be released. The device has a carrier plate and at least one cushion that can be filled with gas and is attached to the carrier plate. In a following method step, the cushions belonging to the device are filled with gas under pressure, the pressure being successively increased until the pole to be released has come away, and in that, in a following method step, the at least one device is removed from the air gap. In a further step, the released pole is pulled out of the rotor hub.

Electric Motor and Process for Making an Electric Motor

An electric motor includes a stationary stator and a rotating rotor. To assemble the rotor, a grease is applied to at least a portion of the shaft of the rotor proximate a rotor core disposed on the shaft. A liquid varnish is applied to the rotor core and allowed to harden. The grease can be removed from the shaft along with any varnish that had hardened thereon. Later, the same grease can be reapplied to the shaft to facilitate installation of a bearing onto the shaft. The process can apply to the assembly of new electric motors or to the remanufacturing of previously constructed motors.

C-SHAPED OR U-SHAPED HALF-COIL, ROTOR WINDING WITH SUCH A HALF-COIL AND ITS MANUFACTUING METHOD

Embodiments of the present invention relate to a winding of a rotor for use in rotating electrical machines. More particularly, embodiments of the present invention relate to innovative half-coils used for the winding of the rotor. Moreover, embodiments of the invention pertain to a method for winding a rotor body of an electrical machine. According to embodiments of the invention, half-coils, instead of being manufactured as double hollow conductors, are provided in the form of two single hollow conductors, which are adjacently embedded within a respective slot of the rotor body.

The system includes a reaction bridge that is configured to couple to the casing of the rotary machine such that the reaction bridge is moveable along a length of the casing. The reaction bridge includes a front support and a rear support that is substantially parallel to the front support. Each of the supports includes a first leg, a second leg, and a support beam extending therebetween. A force device including an actuator and an engaging rod extending therefrom is coupled to the reaction bridge. The force device is configured to apply a force substantially tangentially to a segment positioned in one of the casing arcuate channels.

RADIAL LEAD SEAL ASSEMBLY FOR A GENERATOR AND A RADIAL LEAD SEAL ASSEMBLY OF A GENERATOR
20170018984 · 2017-01-19 ·

A retrofit method for modifying a radial lead seal assembly of a generator and a radial lead seal assembly of a generator are presented. The radial lead seal assembly seals a radial chamber from an axial chamber. The radial lead seal assembly includes sealing elements disposed around a radial lead to seal an annular space between the radial lead and the radial chamber, a coil spring disposed around the radial lead between the sealing elements and a junction between the radial lead and the axial lead, and a nut. The retrofit method includes removing one or more of the sealing elements to define a radial space between the remainder of the sealing elements and the coil spring. Conical springs are inserted in the radial space and only partially compressed under a radially inward compressive load exerted on the radial lead seal assembly via the nut.
