A modern scenic passenger railcar system is disclosed. The railcar system incorporates design and safety features of modern freightcars and modern passenger scenic railway cars. The railcar system incorporates a center beam with a square cross section as well as specialized crash posts with its frame. This results in enhanced safety and crashworthiness. The railcar system also incorporates cross members for absorbing and distributing shock and mechanical stress on the railcar system during use, by withstanding torsion and shear forces on the frame. This results in improved mechanical integrity of the frame and the railcar system overall.

Railroad Well Car Structure

A well car for carrying shipping containers has a pair of end structures supported by railcar trucks, a pair of first and second spaced apart side beams extending between the end structures and a well defined therebetween. Container support cross-members are mounted between the side sills in a position to support an end of a shipping container load carried within the well. An array of elongate members is provided to divide the opening into smaller spaces and to prevent excessively large openings from being left. The elongate members can have different forms, whether rigid hollow structural sections, rods, or cables. The arrays of elongate members are oriented at oblique angles along the railcar body.

Noise-absorbent and odor-adsorbent fabric cover systems for vehicle interiors

The present disclosure provides cover systems for covering components of a cabin interior of a vehicle, such as an automobile, a train car, a bus, a boat, or an aircraft, among others. For instance, the cover systems may cover one or more of a seat and a floor, among others, of the cabin interior. The fabric cover systems may absorb or partially absorb one or more of low-frequency sounds, such as low-frequency noise emitted by an engine, and high-frequency sounds, among others. The fabric cover systems may absorb or partially absorb odor molecules. The fabric covering systems may include multiple layers. For instance, one of the layers may include activated carbon fibers. The activated carbon fibers may absorb or partially absorb one or more of sounds, liquids, and odors, among others.

Underfloor duct

There is provided an underfloor duct which enables inspection of electric equipment to be easily performed, has a simple structure, and hardly allows water to intrude into a duct passage. An underfloor duct according to an aspect of the present invention is an underfloor duct, provided under a floor of a railcar, for storing electric equipment including a cable. The underfloor duct includes: a box having a frame that projects upward, and an opening that opens downward; and a lid that closes the opening and forms a duct passage between the lid and the box. An end portion of the box is located outside an end portion of the lid in a car width direction.
