GLA DOMAINS AS THERAPEUTIC AGENTS
The disclosure relates to the recombinant Gla domain proteins and their use targeting phosphatidylserine (PtdS) moieties on the surface of cells, particularly those expressing elevated levels of PtdS, such as cells undergoing apoptosis.
Gla domains as targeting agents
The disclosure relates to the recombinant Gla domain proteins and their use targeting phosphatidylserine (PtdS) moieties on the surface of cells, particularly those expressing elevated levels of PtdS, such as cells undergoing apoptosis. These proteins can be linked to both diagnostic and therapeutic payloads, thereby permitting identification and treatment of cells expression elevated PtdS.
Hydrogel precursor formulation and the use thereof
A hydrogel precursor formulation which is in the form of an unreacted powder. The formulation comprises an activating enzyme, preferably thrombin, a cross-linking enzyme, preferably a transglutaminase, and more preferably factor XIII transglutaminase. The cross-linking enzyme is activatable by the activating enzyme in water with or without a buffer, and at least one structural compound A. The structural compound is crosslinkable by a selective reaction mediated by the crosslinking enzyme to form a hydrogel, wherein the cross-linking enzyme is activated.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PREPARING A THROMBIN SERUM
A system for preparing a thrombin serum that can include a containment device, a cage received within the containment device, a cap attachable to the containment device, an inlet port configured to introduce a non-anti-coagulated autologous blood fluid into the containment device, and an outlet port. An activator, such as glass beads, can be present within the containment device.
HOST CELLS FOR USE IN AN INDUCIBLE COEXPRESSION SYSTEM
The present invention provides host cells for use in an inducible coexpression system that is capable of controlled induction of expression of each gene product.
SELF-ASSEMBLING PROTEIN SCAFFOLDS AND METHODS
A protein scaffold includes a plurality of EutM subunits and a multi-enzyme cascade. The multi-enzyme cascade includes a first enzyme attached to the first EutM subunit and a second enzyme attached to the second EutM subunit. The scaffold may be formed by a method that generally includes incubating a plurality of EutM subunits under conditions allowing the EutM subunits to self-assemble into a protein scaffold, attaching a first enzyme of a multi-enzyme cascade to a first EutM subunit, and attaching a second enzyme of the multi-enzyme cascade to a second EutM subunit. The scaffold may be self-assembled in vivo or in vitro. Each enzyme may be, independently of any other enzyme, attached to its EutM subunit in vivo or in vitro. Each enzyme may be, independently of any other enzyme, attached to its EutM subunit before or after the scaffold is assembled.
METHOD FOR PURIFYING AND QUANTIFYING THROMBIN AND ITS DEGRADATION POLYPEPTIDES
Provided is a method for purifying -thrombin and for quantifying -thrombin and its degradation polypeptides in a liquid proteinatious solution. The method employs a one-step anion exchange chromatography method. The method allows purification and/or quantification of a homogenous post-translationally modified -thrombin. The method can also be used for purification and/or quantification of -thrombin.
COORDINATED COEXPRESSION OF THROMBIN
The present invention provides methods of producing thrombin using coordinated coexpression systems, and particularly inducible coexpression systems, capable of controlled induction of expression of each gene product required for the production of thrombin.
THROMBIN SOLUTION AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
Provided are methods for lyophilization of an aqueous thrombin solution, thrombin solutions for use in such lyophilization methods, and solid thrombin compositions produced by such methods.
