Baseband unit with adaptive fronthaul link for a distributed radio access network
A distributed radio frequency communication system facilitates communication between a wireless terminal and a core network. The system includes a remote radio unit (RRU) coupled to at least one antenna to communicate with the wireless terminal. The RRU includes electronic circuitry to perform at least a first portion of a first-level protocol of a radio access network (RAN) for communicating between the wireless terminal and the core network. The system also includes a baseband unit (BBU) coupled to the core network, and configured to perform at least a second-level protocol of the RAN. A fronthaul link is coupled to the BBU and the RRU. The fronthaul link utilizes an adaptive fronthaul protocol for communication between the BBU and the RRU. The adaptive fronthaul protocol has provisions for adapting to conditions of the fronthaul link and radio network by changing the way data is communicated over the fronthaul link.
CONTROL METHOD AND APPARATUS IN A MOBILE AUTOMATION SYSTEM
A control method in a mobile automation system including a mobile automation apparatus and a control server. The method comprises, at the mobile automation apparatus: receiving a task identifier and a plurality of task fragments from the control server, each task fragment containing (i) a subset of identifiers for respective sub-regions in a facility, and (ii) an operational constraint. The method further includes, for each task fragment: generating a path traversing the subset of sub-regions, and while travelling along the path, performing the identified task.
Method and device for data streaming in a mobile communication system
Interfacing between radio units in a base station in a mobile communication system uses a common public radio interface CPRI for streaming IQ data samples arranged in lanes. A separate serial interface sRIO is now additionally used for transferring selected data samples arranged in packets, the selected samples corresponding to selected lanes streamed between other radio units via the common public radio interface. In the radio unit, the selected data samples are arranged in packets to be transmitted via the serial interface, and, vice versa, the selected data samples arranged in packets received via the serial interface are arranged in lanes. A system timer coupled to the CPRI generates a timebase for controlling the sRIO interface in order to have it synchronized. Advantageously the data sample transfer capacity of the streaming CPRI interface is extended using the packet based serial interface.
Transmission method, reception method, transmission apparatus, and reception apparatus
A transmission method includes: generating one or more transfer frames that each store one or more streams used for content transfer; and transmitting the one or more generated frames through broadcast, each of the one or more streams storing one or more second transfer units, each of the one or more second transfer units storing one or more first transfer units, and each of the one or more first transfer units storing one or more Internet Protocol (IP) packets. In at least one stream among the one or more streams, each of the first transfer units positioned at a head contains reference clock information indicating time used for reproduction of the content.
Antenna control system in base station system and configuration method therefor
An antenna control system in a base station system, and a configuration method of the antenna control system are disclosed. A method of controlling antennas in a multi-ALD (Antenna Line Device) system including ALDs and ports linked with multiple base stations is provided including receiving configuration command by one of ALDs from one of base stations, transferring configuration command by the ALD that received configuration command to each of remaining ALDs, and setting an antenna for controlling or port for linking by each ALD according to the configuration command. In accordance with some embodiments, a multi-ALD system for controlling a plurality of antennas includes ports for linking with multiple base stations, respectively, and ALDs for controlling the antennas, wherein the ALDs are linked for intercommunications with each other, to set an antenna to control or a port to link according to configuration command received from one of the base stations.
Content delivery using gossip protocols
Techniques are described for facilitating the delivery of digital content using gossip protocols. A group of client devices share information about network conditions in sideband communications using a gossip protocol. Each of the client devices then uses this information to make decisions about how to access content. By providing accurate and current information about network conditions the occurrence of buffering events and/or fatal errors may be significantly reduced or eliminated.
Control method and apparatus in a mobile automation system
A control method includes: storing, at a control server, respective identifiers for a plurality of sub-regions in a facility; for each sub-region identifier, a location of the sub-region in the facility and an operational constraint associated with a mobile automation apparatus; at the control server: obtaining a job definition indicating a set of the sub-region identifiers and a task; retrieving the locations and the operational constraints corresponding to the set of sub-region identifiers from the repository; allocating the set of sub-region identifiers to a plurality of subsets of sub-region identifiers, each subset having a shared common operational constraint; for each subset of sub-region identifiers, generating a task fragment containing the subset of sub-region identifiers, and the common operational constraint; and sending the task fragments and an identifier of the task to the mobile automation apparatus for performance of the task at each of the set of sub-region identifiers.
