Slurry dispenser for radioisotope production
A slurry dispensing system is disclosed. A peristaltic pump may direct a flow of slurry out of a horizontal mixer to a slurry dispenser. This slurry dispenser may be operated on a programmed manner by a controller to dispense slurry into a container. Both a bypass valve and a dispensing valve of the slurry dispenser may be opened/closed on a programmed basis by the controller to deliver slurry to a container, such as a glass column. Slurry may be intermittently directed into a metering chamber of the slurry dispenser, while the remainder of the slurry being directed into the slurry dispenser may be recirculated back to the horizontal mixer.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERATING AND STORING METHANE GAS USING RENEWABLE SOURCES
Systems and methods provide a self-contained sealed apparatus that captures, filters, compresses and stores methane gas produced by the decomposition of bio-degradable organic materials. The system includes a rotatable and sealable chamber with an intermittent drive unit that mixes moist bio-degradable material during an anaerobic reaction, and captures methane gas generated by anaerobic decomposition. A filter to remove impurities, a low-pressure storage tank, a compressor and a high-pressure storage tank are interconnected and controlled by a system that monitors system parameters, that may include gas flow rate, temperature, and gas volume, and controls system parameters, that may include drive unit activation, generator operation, and compressor operation.
Method and apparatus for dispensing liquids from a plurality of cartridges
An apparatus for dispensing a plurality of liquids, in particular colorants for paints, comprising a support, such as a turntable or a linear table, defining a plurality of positions and a plurality of containers holding a liquid, mounted on the support at the positions, and provided with a pump and/or a valve for dispensing the liquid from the container. At least some of the containers form, together with a respective liquid and pump and/or valve, a cartridge, which cartridge is releasably mounted in the apparatus.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR WETTING PARTICLES
A device for wetting particles, in particular wood particles, with an application agent, at least one conduit transporting a fluid as a fluid stream and an end section which forms an outlet. The fluid can be introduced in the direction of the main flow into a container containing the particles, via the outlet. The particles are in the container in a loosened state and/or can be loosened. The application agent, for spraying by a nozzle device with a speed component directed against the main flow direction, can be introduced into the fluid stream and can be guided to the particles by the fluid stream.
Determination of gyroscopic based rotation
A gyroscopic rotational monitoring system may be utilized for monitoring one or more properties of rotatable container or vessel, and/or one or more properties of a displaceable material contained in the rotatable vessels. An exemplary aspect relates to the use of a gyroscope and periodicity sensor (e.g., accelerometer) to determine rotational speed of a concrete mixing drum, so that the slump or other property of the concrete can be monitored or adjusted such as by dosing with water, chemical admixtures, or mixture thereof.
Method and machine for manufacturing paste, in particular carbon paste for making aluminum production electrodes
Method and device for preparing a paste by blending or mixing materials, in particular for making aluminum production electrodes. The method includes the following operations: a) introducing the materials to be blended or mixed into a vat (31) having an inner surface extending along a substantially horizontal axis of revolution (X), b) rotating the vat (31) about the axis of revolution (X) and urging the materials via centrifugation against the inner surface of the vat (31), and c) locally dislodging the centrifuged materials from the inner surface by rotating the vat (31) and causing same to fall onto a crumbling tool (40).
Horizontal mixer with center-angled blades
A horizontal mixer (50) is disclosed. Multiple blades (92) are affixed to and rotate with a tumbler (80) of the mixer (50). These blades (92) extend within an interior mixing chamber (90) and are center-angled so as to promote a desirable mixing action within this chamber (90) (e.g. so as to fold a slurry within the chamber (90) onto itself). One characterization is that the blades (92) are oriented so as to direct a flow toward a common outlet region (78) within the tumbler (80) throughout at least a certain rotational angle. The mixer (50) is particularly suited for realizing a desirable homogeneity of particles within a slurry from which radioisotopes may be produced.
Recycled asphalt process
A method of making hot mix asphalt using recycled asphalt in which tertiary air is mixed with products of combustion at an exit of a refractory-lined chamber to produce hot controlled temperature process air, the temperature of the tertiary air being increased while the temperature of the products of combustion is decreased to adjust a temperature of the hot controlled temperature process air. Particles of the recycled asphalt are heated by exposing the particles to the hot controlled temperature process air in the rotary counter-flow dryer and mixer and moisture is removed from the recycled asphalt with the hot controlled temperature process air.
Rotary Mixer
The subject matter of this specification can be embodied in, among other things, a rotary mixer with a housing defining a mixing chamber defining a rotation axis, the housing being rotatable about the rotation axis in a rotation direction and having a longitudinal midpoint, a set of blades within the housing, wherein at least one pair of blades of the set of blades forms an angle with respect to each other, and at least one blade of the set of blades is shorter than another blade of the set of blades in the rotation direction, and a splitter blade located within the housing with respect to the longitudinal midpoint and the angle to divide material in the mixing chamber between the at least one blade of the set of blades and the other blade of the set of blades, as the cylindrical housing is rotated about the rotation axis.
Mixer for insertion into a rotor of a centrifuge
A mixer for insertion into a rotor of a centrifuge has a mixing trough and an obstacle device with at least one obstacle. The at least one obstacle is configured in order to influence the flow of a liquid present in the mixing trough. In response to a rotation of the rotor, with a specified incorporation of the mixer in a holder of the rotor, a spacing between at least one wall section of the mixing trough and the obstacle device is variable such that the liquid present in the mixing trough flows around the obstacle of the obstacle device.
