RAILCAR

According to a railcar, a low-floor underframe includes side beams to which side bodyshells are coupled, a high-floor underframe includes a center sill disposed to extend in a car longitudinal direction at a center in a car width direction and a body bolster coupled to this center sill and to be an installation portion of a bogie, and the body bolster is coupled to the side beam by a coupling member. Thus, the car end compression load input to the high-floor underframe can be directly transmitted from the center sill and the body bolster to the side beams via the coupling member. This can disperse the car end compression load on the side bodyshells to ensure the car strength against the car end compression load.

CARBODY OF RAILCAR

A carbody of a railcar includes: a roof bodyshell; a supporting body provided under the roof bodyshell, the supporting body being attached to the roof bodyshell in a state of being positioned in the vertical direction; a rotating body which is threadedly engaged with the supporting body and rotates relative to the supporting body about an axis extending in a vertical direction to be displaced relative to the supporting body in the vertical direction; and a support target member supported by the roof bodyshell through the supporting body and the rotating body, the support target member being attached to the rotating body in a state of being positioned in the vertical direction, a vertical distance between the roof bodyshell and the support target member being adjustable by displacement of the rotating body relative to the supporting body.

The invention relates to a railway vehicle comprising a car (14) and a bogie (16). The bogie (14) comprises a chassis (28) and a secondary suspension system (30). The secondary suspension system (30) comprises: a set (34) of springs; a jack (36) comprising two ends (44, 46); and a supply device (38) of the jack (36). The jack (36) is configured to go from a first so-called retracted configuration in which the jack (36) is only connected to the car (14) by the first end (44) to a second so-called deployed configuration in which the jack (36) is also connected to the chassis (18) by the second end (16). The power supply device (38) is configured, in the deployed configuration, to supply the jack (36) so as to move the car (14) away from the chassis (28) or to keep the distance between the car (14) and the chassis (28) constant.

STUB SILL ASSEMBLIES

Subassemblies for railroad tank cars are herein disclosed. In some embodiments, the subassembly includes a center sill including a generally horizontal top member and a pair of upright side plates spaced apart laterally from each other and a head brace having a lower margin welded to the top member of the center sill and an upper margin welded to the head of the tank. Each of the side plates having a top surface and an opposed bottom surface, the top surface being planar within a longitudinal central portion and at least a substantial part of a first longitudinal end portion. The bottom surface is planar and parallel to the top surface within the longitudinal central portion and a second longitudinal end portion. At least a substantial part of the bottom surface within the first longitudinal end portion has a shape that includes or approximates one or more radiuses of curvature.
