An archery release is provided including a digit extension attached to a handle via a spindle connection that facilitates configuration of the extension in multiple, set, nonrotatable orientations relative to the handle to fulfill an archer's preferences. The handle can include an arm that extends to a release head having a sear defining a bowstring notch. The spindle connection can join the handle and digit extension, and can include a spindle post having multiple ridges, and a spindle recess having multiple valleys configured to receive corresponding ones of the ridges to prevent rotation of the digit extension relative to the handle in a registration mode. In an adjustment mode, the digit extension and part of the spindle connection can be removed, rotated and replaced relative to another part of the spindle connection to adjust the position of the extension to an archer's preferences.

An archery release device and method are disclosed herein. The archery release device, in an embodiment, includes a trigger, a leverage link and a cord holder. In the hold arrangement, the trigger, the leverage link and the cord holder are coupled together through a direct connection or an indirect connection. The coupling, direct or indirect, causes the cord holder to hold a draw cord when the cord holder is subject to a pulling force. In the release arrangement, a release interface of the leverage link is decoupled from the trigger, and another release interface of the leverage link is decoupled from the cord holder.

A bow release of the type having a wrist strap, a first body and a second body, the first body comprising a bow string keeper and a trigger system for releasing a bow string held in the keeper, the second body comprising a coil spring biased plunger extending from the second body and attached to the first body, the second body attached to the wrist strap so that when the bow string of a bow is held by the bow string keeper while the bow is drawn by an archer having the wrist strap attached to the archers draw hand wrist, the archer can actuate the trigger of the trigger system to release the bow string from the bow string keeper. The improvement of the instant invention relates to the coil spring. The coil spring of the instant invention has an uncompressed length in the range of from one half inch to five inches and a spring rate in the range of from three pounds per inch to eighty pounds per inch and where the coil spring is compressed in the second body to a length in the range of from 0.15 inches to 2.5 inches. The bow release of the instant invention can be used as a back tension release or a trigger release.

Crossbow bowstring positioning systems are provided. In one aspect of the invention a crossbow bowstring positioning system has a crank housing supporting an axle and positioning a first connector at a front facing surface of the crank housing, a length of rope connected between two separated points on the axle; a bowstring connector joined to the length of rope and connectable to a bowstring of the crossbow, a mounting having a buffer tube mount mountable to a buffer tube of a crossbow; and a crank operable to rotate the axle to control an extent to which the rope is wound onto the axle and a position of the bowstring connector relative to the axle. The crank housing and mounting can be readily assembled in a small space and an efficient manner while providing paths through which a force experienced by the axle during use can be resisted.

Crossbow cocking system

A crossbow cocking system may include a sled having first and second arms, an elongated cocking cable, a first handle, a second handle, a first engagement feature and a second engagement feature. The first and second engagement features may be used to engage the first handle to the first arm and the second handle to the second arm, respectively. Each engagement feature may include at least one cavity and at least one protrusion that is received in the cavity for engagement.
