A trigger release system includes a trigger release that is magnetically-actuated. The trigger on the trigger release is coupled to a mechanical release such that a predetermined amount of force on the trigger causes the mechanical release to trip. A first embodiment uses magnetic repulsion between a magnet on a wearable article worn by the shooter and a magnet on the trigger. A second embodiment uses magnetic attraction between a magnet on a wearable article worn by the shooter and a magnet on the trigger. A third embodiment uses magnetic attraction between a magnet on a wearable article and a trigger made of magnetic metal. All three embodiments provide a magnetically-actuated trigger release. Providing a trigger release system with a magnetically-actuated trigger release provides a surprise actuation of the trigger release, thereby improving accuracy of the shooter.

A crossbow can include a de-cocking system to allow a bowstring to be transitioned from a drawn mode to an undrawn mode. The de-cocking system can include a sled that engages the bowstring to draw it to a drawn mode and/or lets down the bowstring to the undrawn mode during a de-cocking operation. The sled can include a stop that prevents the sled or bowstring from engaging a safety and/or interfering with transition of the safety from a safety on mode to a safety off mode. The safety can be manually actuated from the safety on mode to the safety off mode. With the safety in the off mode, upon actuation of a trigger assembly, the sled assists transition of the bowstring to the undrawn mode. The stop can be reconfigured to a neutral mode so the sled can be used to draw the bowstring. A related method is provided.

Adjustable finger support for archery release

An adjustable finger support for an archery release includes a handle having a longitudinal axis, top and bottom portions and interior and exterior side surfaces. A pair of finger beds are configured for pivotal connection with the handle. A drive assembly connects the finger beds with the handle and displaces the finger beds relative to the handle to a desired width. The drive assembly includes a pair of brackets pivotally connected with the handle. The angle of the finger beds is further adjustable relative to the brackets, so that the finger beds are adjustable in both width and to provide variable finger support and an optimal fit for the archer to better positions a head portion of the archery release toward a target.
