A method of fabricating a polymer composite material by mixing a polymer material with a planar material, depositing the mixture on a substrate, and stretching the resulting thin film, is described. Polymer composite materials produced using said method and ballistic resistant materials comprising said polymer composite materials are also described.

Stitched polymer matrix composites using barrier layers for cryogenic applications and methods of making the same

Provided herein are polymer matrix composites, articles including the polymer matrix composites, and methods of forming the polymer matrix composites. The polymer matrix composite includes a stitched composite and a hybrid barrier layer incorporated within the stitched composite, the hybrid barrier layer including a thin ply and a nanographene dispersed resin. The article includes a high-pressure composite cryogenic tank including the polymer matrix composite. The method includes positioning a dry thin ply between composite plies, stitching the composite plies to form a stitched preform, dispersing nanographene into the resin, and infusing the stitched preform with the modified resin.

A method for producing polypropylene-based resin expanded beads containing a post-consumer recycled material of a polypropylene-based resin foamed molded article containing carbon black in order to enable provision of a black expanded beads molded article excellent in appearance and physical properties using a post-consumer recycled material of a polypropylene-based resin foamed molded article containing carbon black. The method includes: a mixing step of melt-mixing a polypropylene-based resin at 230 C. under a load of 2.16 kg and a polypropylene-based resin recovered materials including of a recovered materials of a post-consumer recycled material of a polypropylene-based resin foamed molded article with an extruder to obtain a mixture; an extrusion step; and a foaming step, wherein in the mixture, the polypropylene-based resin recovered materials contains carbon black.
