A disclosed dryer includes a receptacle configured to contain material to be dried, an air duct configured to route recirculating air and/or fresh air to the receptacle, a heating device configured to heat the recirculating air, and at least one sensor. The sensor is configured to determine a relative humidity and/or temperature, and the air duct includes at least one adjusting element configured to modify a portion of recirculating air routed to the receptacle. The dryer further includes a control or regulating device configured to control or regulate the portion of recirculating air routed to the receptacle and/or a heating capacity of the heating device during a drying process. A disclosed method includes controlling a portion of recirculating air routed to the receptacle and/or a heating capacity of the heating device. Further, a mixture of recirculating air and fresh air are varied during heat-up, drying, and cool-down phases.

Travel cycle for a condenser or heat pump dryer appliance

A dryer appliance and a method of operating the same are provided. In one aspect, the dryer appliance includes a drum rotatably mounted within a cabinet. The drum defines a chamber that is in fluid communication with a conditioning system of the dryer appliance that circulates heated air through the chamber. A controller is configured to receive a command to initiate an appliance travel cycle and implement a responsive action to prepare the dryer appliance for travel. The responsive action may be the automated adjustment of one or more operating parameters of the dryer appliance, such as performing a load sensing procedure, drying the chamber, closing the water supply valves, etc. In addition, the responsive action may include providing a user instruction to prepare the dryer appliance, e.g., by cleaning the lint filter, emptying the condensate collection tank, removing hoses and cables, addressing any error codes, etc.

A method of operating a laundry treating appliance with a treating chamber for treating a load of laundry the method comprising supplying a rinse to the treating chamber during a rinse cycle, spinning the treating chamber in an extraction cycle to remove excess moisture from the load of laundry, sensing a parameter indicative of a remaining moisture content value in the load of laundry, comparing the remaining moisture content value to a pre-determined remaining moisture content value.

Hardware detection and cycle behavior modification in laundry appliance applications

Hardware detection in a laundry treatment appliance is provided. Data is received from the sensor providing data in relation to presence or absence of a removable agitator within the laundry treatment appliance. A configuration of the removable agitator with respect to the laundry treatment appliance is identified based on the data from the sensor, the configuration indicating at least the presence or absence of the removable agitator. Settings of the laundry treatment appliance are updated in accordance with the identified configuration of the laundry treatment appliance.

A control method includes performing a first drum operation of supplying water by a first set amount together with a detergent into the tub and rotating the drum at a first drum rotation speed while water is supplied, operating the pump at a first pump rotation speed during the first drum operation, operating a heater to heat water in the tub, performing a second drum operation of rotating the drum at the first drum rotation speed during the operation of the heater, and operating the pump at a second pump rotation speed at least once during the second drum operation, stopping the operation of the heater, performing a third drum operation of rotating the drum at the first drum rotation speed, and operating the pump at the first pump rotation speed during the third drum operation.

Leftover load detection method using image recognition in a laundry appliance

A laundry appliance includes a basket rotatably mounted within a cabinet and defining a chamber configured for receiving a load of clothes and a camera assembly mounted within the cabinet in view of the chamber. A controller is configured to implement a leftover load detection method including determining that an operating cycle of the laundry appliance has been completed and that a user has removed the load of clothes. A camera then obtains one or more images of the chamber and the images are analyzed to determine whether any articles of clothing remain in the chamber. If the image analysis identifies a leftover article remaining in the chamber, the method includes implementing a responsive action, such as providing a user notification.

Methods for determining and performing conditioning operations within a laundry treatment appliance

A method of operating a dryer appliance includes predicting a removal point at which a laundry load will be removed from the tub of the dryer, the removal point being a certain amount of time after the completion of a main drying operation, determining a length of time required to perform a conditioning operation on the laundry load, determining a start time for the conditioning operation, and implementing a responsive action at the start time.

Laundry treating apparatus and method for controlling the same

A laundry treating apparatus includes a tub, a drum rotatably disposed inside the tub, a rotator that is rotatably disposed on a bottom surface of the drum and includes a pillar extending inside the drum and a plurality of blades spaced apart from each other along a circumferential direction of the pillar and inclined with respect to a longitudinal direction of the pillar, a motor for driving the drum and the rotator, and a controller that controls operation of the motor. A method for controlling the apparatus includes sensing an amount of clothes in the drum, sensing a washing load of the clothes including a moisture content from water supplied into the tub, and sensing a cloth material of the clothes. When the washing load corresponds to a normal washing load in the first cloth material sensing operation, a first washing process is performed according to the washing load.

Method for controlling laundry treating apparatus

Disclosed is a method for controlling a laundry treating apparatus including an efficiency increasing operation and an efficiency maintaining operation, wherein the efficiency increasing operation includes a first efficiency increasing operation, wherein the controller controls the first driver such that an RPM of the drum corresponds to a first drum RPM and controls the second driver such that an RPM of the fan corresponds to a first fan RPM to perform a first efficiency increasing process, and a second efficiency increasing operation, wherein, after the first efficiency increasing operation, the controller controls the first driver such that the RPM of the drum corresponds to the first drum RPM and controls the second driver such that the RPM of the fan corresponds to a second fan RPM higher than the first fan RPM to perform a second efficiency increasing process.
