OPTICAL DEVICE
An optical device has a light guide plate that guides light in a plane parallel to an emission surface thereof, an optical deflection surface that deflects light entering the light guide plate from a light source that faces a plane parallel to at least the emission surface or the surface opposite the emission surface, so that the light travels along the light guide direction of the light guide plate, and a plurality of light focusing portions. Each of the light focusing portions includes an optical surface whereon the light deflected by the optical deflection surface and guided by the light guide plate is incident, and which causes the emission surface to output emission light that converges substantially on a convergence point or convergence line in a space, or that radiates substantially from a convergence point or convergence line in a space.
Three-dimensional image display apparatus, methods and systems
The present disclosure provides a three-dimensional image display apparatus, which includes a first reflecting plate and a display unit. The first reflecting plate corresponds to a first visual angle, has a first reflecting surface, and is made of a translucent material. The display unit receives a first color-depth image corresponding to the first visual angle, and projects the first color-depth image to the first reflecting surface to form a virtual image. The display unit also has a first side, which is used to display the first color-depth image, and a predetermined angle is formed between the first side and the first reflecting surface.
3D image system, method, and applications
Apparatus (systems) and methods are described for generating and displaying a virtual true 3D image viewable by a single eye of a viewer. A fixed-curve mirror is translated along an optical axis in synchrony with a temporally-modulated 2D image generator to generate a virtual image in multiple virtual image planes, enabling depth perception of the image by a single eye of the viewer.
Collimating display and methods
A display includes a first reflecting surface, a second reflecting surface, and a beam splitter. The second reflecting surface is positioned parallel with respect to the first reflecting surface, and the beam splitter is disposed between the first and second reflecting surfaces. The beam splitter includes a first transmissive substrate having opposed first and second sides and a length extending from a first end to a second end. A first layer of material is disposed on at least one of the first or second sides of the first transmissive substrate. The first layer of reflective material extends from the first end of the first transmissive substrate to a location along the length of the first transmissive substrate.
Display apparatus
Provided is a display apparatus including: a first display unit including a first screen on which a first image is imaged and that is capable of displaying the first image in a first direction and a first optical member capable of reflecting and displaying the first image in at least one second direction crossing the first direction; a second display unit that includes a second screen on which a second image is imaged and that is capable of displaying the second image in the second direction; and a light source configured to project first image light forming the first image onto the first screen and project second image light forming the second image onto the second screen.
