Monofilament string for a racket and process for manufacturing such a monofilament string
The present invention relates to a monofilament string for a racket, comprising a core consisting of a single filament and a sheath extending around the core and in contact with the core, the monofilament string being characterized in that: the core (2) is made of a first material comprising polyamide 6 and a first copolymer of polyamide 6 and polyamide 6.6, the sheath (3) is made of a second material comprising a second copolymer of polyamide 6 and polyamide 6.6,
the first material having a greater tensile modulus than the second material. The present invention also related to a process for manufacturing such a filament string, by co-extrusion of the core and the sheath and stretching of the co-extruded string.
RACKET
A grommet of a racket includes a tubular portion. The tubular portion has a through hole through which a string is passed. The through hole has a base-side opening, a side wall, and a tip-side opening. In the tip-side opening, an inner dimension in a direction parallel to a face is larger than an inner dimension in a direction perpendicular to the face. In the tubular portion, the string is in contact with the side wall from the base-side opening to the tip-side opening.

MUSICAL INSTRUMENT STRING AND SPORTS RACKET STRING, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAID STRING
Musical instrument string or sports racket string, comprising a core which comprises or is composed of a bundle of thermoplastic fibers, wherein at least some thermoplastic fibers of the bundle are at least partially, such as for example in a punctiform or linear manner, connected to one another in a materially integral manner, in particular by fusing on the boundary surfaces, and method for producing said string.

High strength racquet string
A high strength racquet string includes a monofilament core and a plurality of strands braided around the monofilament core in opposite directions. The same number of strands are braided clockwise as braided counterclockwise. The plurality of strands are not bonded to the monofilament core along a length thereof, but are bonded to each other at opposing ends to prevent unraveling of the plurality of strands. A coating is not applied to the high strength racquet string. A cross-sectional shape of the monofilament core and the plurality of strands is preferably round or substantially round. The monofilament core is preferably fabricated from nylon, polyester, polyethylene or any other suitable material. The plurality of strands are preferably fabricated from Spectra, Vectran or any other suitable material. An outside diameter of the high strength racquet string preferably ranges from 1.0 mm to 1.5 mm.

MONOFILAMENT STRING FOR USE IN STRING RACKET SPORTS
A monofilament string for use in string racket sports, wherein the monofilament string comprises: a covering material; a core material embedded in the covering material, wherein the core material comprises: a sea region comprising a thermoplastic elastomer; and a plurality of island regions comprising a thermoplastic plastic doped with one or more doping agents, wherein the plurality of island regions is embedded in the sea region; and wherein a geometry and/or a distribution of the island regions in the sea region is such that a tangent modulus of a stress-strain curve of the monofilament string increases with increasing strain in a playing stress range.
