Sensor unit with fastening element for fastening to a structure

A fastening element for a sensor is disclosed, which fastening element can be fastened to a structure by means of a light-curing adhesive. The light-curing adhesive is cured within the cavities provided for receiving the light-curing adhesive by direct and/or indirect illumination. Furthermore, a sensor unit having a sensor and a fastening element, an arrangement having a sensor unit and a structure, and a method for providing an arrangement is disclosed.

Method for locating a rail vehicle

A method for locating a rail vehicle with a rail vehicle position determination device on a route includes reading positions of reference marks, passed by the rail vehicle, along the route of the rail vehicle and evaluating additional distance information. In order to locate a rail vehicle with little expenditure and with comparatively high accuracy, in the case of a route with at least one track section bounded by axle counting sensor units and having an axle counting evaluator, information on the number of axles from the axle counting evaluator is transferred to the rail vehicle position determination device for determining the position of a rail vehicle. In the rail vehicle position determination device, the position of an axle of the rail vehicle corresponding to the information on the number of axles is determined using route topology data present there, and this position is used as a further reference mark.

Vehicle control system

A control system is provided that may include a first sensor configured to detect a vehicle system. The control system may also include one or more processors in communication with the first sensor. The one or more processors may be configured to receive communication related to entry of the vehicle system into an area, and operate the first sensor to begin monitoring the vehicle system in response to entry of vehicle system into the area. The one or more processors may also be configured to record movement data related to the vehicle system, and determine movement of the vehicle system within the area based on the movement data.

Broken rail detector

A method and apparatus to detect breaks in tracks and/or detect the presence of a vehicle, such as a train, in a monitored section of the track or rail. Embodiments of the present invention measure the change in track inductance associated with a track or rail break. Electrical shunts are connected between the rails at spaced-apart intervals (for example a shunt can be placed every mile). At least two different frequencies of alternating current are generated and fed into the segments of rail (for example at or near a mid-point between the shunts). If a rail break occurs, the total inductance of the rail at that segment will change. Using two or more frequencies allows a rail break to be differentiated from environmental rail-to-rail and rail-to-earth leakage.

A measurement method includes: an observation data acquisition step of acquiring observation data output from an observation apparatus; a passing time calculation step of calculating, based on the observation data, an entry time when a railway vehicle enters one end of a bridge and an exit time when the railway vehicle exits another end, and calculating a time which is a difference between the exit time and the entry time as a passing time; and a traveling speed function calculation step of calculating a traveling speed function when the railway vehicle travels on the bridge based on the passing time, a traveling distance of the railway vehicle during the passing time, a distance between a stop position of the railway vehicle and a position of an end of the bridge closer to the stop position, and a length between a front surface of a leading car and a leading axle of the railway vehicle.

Track sensor arrangement

A track sensor arrangement consists of a wheel sensor (1), a detachable connection assembly (2) and a track holder (3). The detachable connection assembly (2) consists of a supply cable (4) and a plug (5) provided with an electric plug connection (6B). The track holder (3) consists of a support (7) and of connection elements (8). Inside the body (9) of the plug (5) an assembly compartment (10) is formed. The body (9) of the plug (5) is slidingly fitted on the support (7), wherein on the body (9) of the plug (5) a mounting clamp (11) is slidingly fitted. The mounting clamp (11) is fastened to the support (7) by means of a screw connection (12).
