System for detecting drainage flow obstructions in washing appliances
A method of monitoring drainage of a washing appliance such as a dishwasher or washing machine having a pump for draining a washing chamber is disclosed. The method includes receiving a time series of power consumption data relating to the operation of the washing appliance over a monitored period of operation including pumped draining of the washing chamber. A measure of the duration of a portion of the monitored period comprising said pumped draining is derived from the time series of power consumption data. The measure of duration is then compared to a reference value and an indicator of a drainage condition is determined based on the comparison. The method may be used to detect scaling or blockages in drainage flow paths.
Systems and methods of operating a washing machine appliance to detect and mitigate out-of-balance conditions
A washing machine appliance includes a wash basket that is rotatably mounted within a wash tub and that defines a wash chamber for receiving a load of clothes. A motor assembly selectively rotates the wash basket, a drain pump assembly selectively drains wash fluid from the wash tub, and a camera assembly is used to monitor an out-of-balance value to minimize out-of-balance issues. Specifically, a controller of the washing machine appliance uses the camera assembly to obtain one or more images of the wash chamber, analyze the one or more images using a machine learning image recognition process to determine the out-of-balance value of the load of clothes in the wash basket, and perform a cloth redistribution process based at least in part on determining that the out-of-balance value is greater than a predetermined out-of-balance threshold.
Laundry treatment machine
The present disclosure relates to a laundry treatment machine. The laundry treatment machine according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a controller configured to increase or decrease stepwise a speed of a motor during dewatering. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce a speed ripple during dewatering.
Washing machine appliance with hydraulically actuated diverter valve
A fluid circulation system of a washing machine appliance includes a wash tub configured for containing fluid during operation of the washing machine appliance and a drain pump positioned below the wash tub. The fluid circulation system also includes a hydraulically actuated diverter valve coupled to the drain pump. The diverter valve is in fluid communication with the drain pump and is downstream of the drain pump. The diverter valve is configured to selectively direct a flow of fluid from the drain pump to one of the wash tub or an outlet of the washing machine appliance.
Method of using image recognition processes for improved operation of a laundry appliance
A washing machine appliance includes a wash basket that is rotatably mounted within a wash tub and that defines a wash chamber for receiving a load of clothes. A basket speed sensor monitors the speed of the wash basket and a camera assembly is mounted within the wash tub for taking images of the load of clothes during and/or after a wash or rinse cycle. A controller determines the basket speed, adjusts a frame rate of the camera assembly to match the basket speed, obtains a still image from the camera assembly, analyzes the image using a machine learning image recognition process to determine a remaining moisture content (RMC) of the load of clothes, and adjusts at least one operating parameter of the washing machine appliance based on the remaining moisture content, e.g., such as ending the drain cycle when a target RMC is reached.
Apparatus for controlling clothes treating apparatus, clothes treating apparatus and method for controlling clothes treating apparatus
An apparatus for controlling a clothes treating apparatus, the clothes treating apparatus, and a method for controlling the clothes treating apparatus configured to sterilize an evaporator by stopping an operation of a compressor under a specific condition to allow a surface temperature of the evaporator to be at or above a reference temperature due to thermal equilibrium caused by the stopping of the operation of the compressor.
Rinse water reuse system and methods of use
Systems, apparatuses and methods for reusing rinse water and recirculating wash water as well as spraying wash water and/or cleaning compositions onto textiles in order to optimize water usage, wash temperature, and composition dosage are provided. An apparatus comprising a water reservoir tank, a drain water pump, a reservoir tank water transfer pump, a control circuit box, at least one diverter drain valve, and a nozzle system comprising a spray nozzle, a valve, and connectors together with a replacement door window, pump, and tubing are further provided for use in the water reuse system. The water reuse system is beneficially combined with a customized cleaning composition to provide improved cleaning performance and effective soil removal.
Systems and methods for drain pump and humidity sensor operation verification
A pump is configured to drain liquid from the wash basket. A vent line extends between the wash basket and the cabinet. The vent line includes a fan, a humidity sensor proximate the fan, and a controller. The controller is operable to perform a drain cycle. The drain cycle includes activating the pump. Comparing, across a set interval of time, a humidity within the washing machine appliance to a reference humidity. Determining the humidity's proximity to the reference humidity. Detecting a fault in the drain cycle in response to the humidity exceeding the reference humidity. Continuing a rinse cycle in response to the humidity being proximate the reference humidity.
Laundry treatment machine and laundry treatment system including the same
A laundry treatment machine includes: a washing tub; a motor configured to supply rotational force to the washing tub; a water level sensor configured to detect a water level of the washing tub; a communicator configured to transmit data to a server or receive data from the server; and a controller server configured to control to stop operation, when a drainage error is detected during drainage operation of the washing tub, and, when tub washing schedule information is received from the server through the communicator, to control to perform operation to wash the washing tub based on the tub washing schedule information.
Washing machine and method for washing textiles
Described and illustrated is a washing machine for washing textiles, including a tub for receiving a washing liquid, a laundry drum inserted at least partially into the tub, a drive for rotating the laundry drum in the tub and a discharge line connected to the tub for discharging washing liquid from the tub. In order to be able to separate the microplastic fibres more easily, cost-effectively and reliably from the washing water or another washing liquid, it is provided that an intermediate storage device is provided for temporarily storing washing liquid discharged via the discharge line, a centrifuge unit rotated by the drive together with the laundry drum for separating microplastic fibres and a return line for transferring the washing liquid from the intermediate storage device into the centrifuge unit.
