METHOD OF STORING INSTRUCTIONS IN PROGRAM MEMORY AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEM
In an embodiment, a system includes a contactless reader and an apparatus. The apparatus includes a contactless transponder including a contactless interface and a transponder wired interface and being configured to communicate with a contactless reader according to a contactless protocol through the contactless interface. The apparatus includes a bus coupled to the transponder wired interface, and at least one module coupled to the bus, the at least one module including a processing circuit, the contactless reader being configured to communicate instructions of a software program executable by the processing circuit to the at least one module through the contactless transponder.
Method and apparatus for transmitting data via NFC for mobile applications including mobile payments and ticketing
A mobile device includes a smartcard controller that does not rely on power received from an interrogating RF field. The mobile device also includes a small inductive device capable of inductive coupling with an RFID reader. The smartcard controller includes circuitry to modulate an impedance of a port coupled to the inductive element when in the presence of an interrogating RF field at substantially 13.56 MHz.
Self-supporting antenna
An antenna includes a self-supporting electrically conductive wire having a width (W) and extending longitudinally along a length and between first and second ends of the conductive wire. The conductive wire forms one or more loops and comprises an electrically conductive layer disposed on and aligned with an adhesive layer. A width and a length of each of the conductive and adhesive layers are substantially co-extensive with the width and the length of the conductive wire.
Devices, systems and methods for establishing a bidirectional link between devices
Techniques for establishing a bidirectional wireless communication link between two otherwise detachable devices when these devices are physically joined together for use as a physically joined device are provided. An example method includes receiving by a mobile computing device a short-range wireless signal from an RFID reader device; monitoring, by the mobile computing device, an RSSI associated with the signal from the RFID reader device; and establishing, by the mobile computing device, a wireless communication connection to the RFID reader device based on the measured RSSI associated with the signal from the RFID reader device being greater than a threshold RSSI value, wherein the threshold RSSI value is calibrated based on an RSSI value associated with the short-range wireless signal from the RFID reader device measured by the mobile computing device when the mobile computing device is physically joined to RFID reader device for use as a joined device.
Method of providing digital content for users of physical items
Systems, apparatuses, and methods are provided for enhancing users' overall experiences with physical items by supplementing their physical experiences with digital experiences. According to an embodiment, a user uses an electronic device to scan a smart tag associated with an item to obtain an item identifier of the item. The electronic device sends the item identifier to a server, which selects digital content related to the item and sends the selected digital content to the user's electronic device for display.
Sensing Array, System And Method For Ore Processing Equipment
Described is a wear part for minerals processing equipment. The wear part comprises an inner surface for contact with slurry when the minerals processing equipment is in use and an outer surface of the wear part. The wear part further comprises at least one sacrificial wear sensor located at a predetermined distance between the inner surface and the outer surface, the at least one sacrificial wear sensor being arranged to wirelessly communicate with a remote wear monitoring unit.
System and method for programming pluggable transceivers
Systems and methods for programming pluggable transceivers are provided. In an embodiment, a method includes receiving RFID data from an RFID device in proximity to a network transceiver via an RFID antenna in the network transceiver, said RFID data defining an operating configuration of the network transceiver; and programming the network transceiver according to the operating configuration defined by the received RFID data. In an embodiment, a network transceiver includes: a host interface for connecting to a host; a network interface for transmitting and receiving signals to and from a network; an RFID antenna for receiving RFID data; and a controller in operative communication with the network interface and the RFID antenna, said controller operating the network interface according to an operating configuration, wherein the operating configuration of the controller is programmed using the RFID data received via the RFID antenna. Various other embodiments are also provided.
User device using NFC, authentication system and operation method thereof
An operation method of a user device which performs near field communication (NFC) with a card reader includes downloading a service certification of a service, which the card reader provides, from a service authentication server through a network, sending status information of the user device to the card reader, receiving a service identifier (ID) which the card reader sends depending on the status information, performing an authentication process with the card reader based on a symmetric key when the service ID is present in the downloaded service certification, and sending an authentication success message to the card reader when the authentication process succeeds.
Method and system for controlling a mobile communication device
Disclosed herein is a method and system for detecting, monitoring and/or controlling one or more of mobile services for a mobile communication device (also referred to herein as a Controllable Mobile Device or CMD), and in particular, when the device is being used and the vehicle, operated by the user of the device, is moving. The present method and system determines whether the vehicle is being operated by a user that may also have access to a mobile communication device which, if used concurrently while the vehicle is in operation, may lead to unsafe operation of the vehicle. If the mobile services control system determines that a vehicle operator has potentially unsafe access to a mobile communication device, the mobile services control system may restrict operator access to one or more services that would otherwise be available to the operator via the mobile communication device.
Securing communication between a wireless data communication accessory for a drug delivery device and an external device
A system comprising a wireless data communication accessory and a drug delivery device is disclosed, wherein the wireless data communication accessory is configured for data exchange with the drug delivery device and to secure data from the drug delivery device using cryptographic information assigned to the drug delivery device.
