INKJET PRINTING APPARATUS AND DETERMINING METHOD
An inkjet printing apparatus includes a print head that ejects ink, a waste ink tank having an absorber that absorbs ink discharged from the print head. The inkjet printing apparatus further includes a counting unit that counts a waste ink amount discharged to the waste ink tank, a timer that measures an elapsed time from installation of the waste ink tank in the apparatus, an acquiring unit that acquires a waste ink retention amount by obtaining an evaporation amount from evaporation of waste ink retained in the waste ink tank based on the elapsed time and subtracting the evaporation amount from the waste ink amount, a notifying unit that notifies that the waste ink retention amount exceeds a threshold; and a setting unit that sets the threshold based on a waste ink evaporation rate calculated by using the evaporation amount and the waste ink amount.
WASTE LIQUID COLLECTOR AND LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS
A waste liquid collector includes a waste liquid tank, a rotatable member, and a cover The waste liquid tank is removably inserted in the waste liquid collector, the waste liquid tank configured to collect waste liquid. The rotatable member is configured to rotate with removal or insertion of the waste liquid tank. The cover is configured to contact a waste liquid inlet portion of the waste liquid tank to cover a waste liquid inlet portion, the cover being slidable with respect to the rotatable member.
WASTE LIQUID CONTAINER AND ATTACHMENT
A waste liquid container includes a waste liquid introduction portion being coupled to a discharge portion when the waste liquid container is mounted on a mounting portion, an accommodation portion accommodating waste liquid discharged from the discharge portion, and a restricted portion having a contact portion configured to make contact with a restricting portion and restricting movement of the waste liquid container in a detachment direction opposite to a mounting direction by contact between the contact portion and the restricting portion in a state in which the waste liquid container is mounted on the mounting portion, wherein the contact portion is arranged at a position which does not overlap with a center of an opening of the waste liquid introduction portion in a vertical direction when seen from a side on which the waste liquid introduction portion is opened.
LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes: a liquid ejecting portion that ejects a liquid onto a medium which is transported and has an ejection surface from which the liquid is ejected and which intersects a horizontal direction; a transport path that is disposed upstream of a position facing the liquid ejecting portion and is positioned vertically below the liquid ejecting portion; and an opening/closing member that is configured to be opened and closed with respect to a side surface of an apparatus body including the liquid ejecting portion, forms the transport path when closed, and at least partially opens the transport path when opened. A liquid collecting portion that collects the liquid leaking from the liquid ejecting portion is provided on the opening/closing member at a position vertically below the ejection surface.
Inkjet printing apparatus and ink filling method for the same
An inkjet printing apparatus includes a print head, an ink tank containing ink to be supplied to the print head, a cap switchable between a covering position to cover a discharge port face and an exposing position to expose the discharge port face, a suction unit connected to the cap, and a control unit. The control unit controls the performing of an ink filling operation of filling the print head with the ink supplied from the ink tank. The ink filling operation includes a valve-closing suction operation of performing suction through the suction unit for a predetermined period of time while the cap is in the covering position. The apparatus further includes a detection unit configured to detect an ink filling state. The control unit controls the stopping of the ink filling operation in accordance with a detection result of the detection unit.
LIQUID COLLECTION DEVICE WITH SUCTIONER FOR SUCKING LIQUID
A liquid collection device includes: a suction tank configured to suck and collect liquid accumulated in a liquid reservoir; a suction passage connecting the liquid reservoir and an inlet opened in a lower portion of the suction tank to each other; a suctioner configured to generate a negative pressure in the suction tank and suck the liquid from the liquid reservoir into the suction tank via the suction passage by using the generated negative pressure; and a controller configured to control the suctioner to terminate suction of the liquid into the suction tank upon continuance of a state where a pressure in the suction tank is equal to or greater than a threshold for a prescribed time or more after start of the suction.
LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS AND CLEANING METHOD
A liquid discharge apparatus includes a liquid discharge head, a cap, a waste liquid channel, a wiper, a cleaner, and a cleaning liquid drainage. The liquid discharge head has a nozzle, from which a liquid is discharged, on a nozzle face. The cap caps the nozzle to suck a waste liquid from the nozzle. The waste liquid channel is connected to the cap and has a waste liquid outlet from which the waste liquid is drained. The wiper wipes the nozzle face. The cleaner applies a cleaning liquid to the wiper. The cleaning liquid drainage drains the cleaning liquid applied to the wiper to the waste liquid outlet.
Liquid container
A liquid container includes: a case having a liquid introduction port through which liquid is introduced and a storage portion that stores the liquid; and an absorber stored in the case and configured to absorb the liquid. The absorber includes multiple absorbent resins that swell by absorbing the liquid and a substrate that supports the absorbent resins and allows the liquid to permeate therethrough. With the absorbent resins swelling by absorbing the ink, at least some of the absorbent resins are spaced apart from the adjacent absorbent resins.
LIQUID DISCHARGING APPARATUS
There is provided a liquid discharging apparatus including: a main body casing; a head; a maintenance unit including a cap, a suction pump and a waste liquid tube in which a liquid sucked by the suction pump is to flow; and a waste liquid reservoir which has a joint to which the waste liquid tube is connected or to be connected, and which is configured to store the liquid. The maintenance unit is configured to be inserted into and drawn from the main body casing. The waste liquid tube has a length to connect the waste liquid reservoir and the maintenance unit in a state that the maintenance unit has been moved from an installed-position at which the maintenance unit is installed in an inside of the main body casing to a drawn-out-position at which the maintenance unit is drawn out to an outside of the main body casing.
WASTE INK CONVEYING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A waste ink conveying device includes a waste ink tank installed in a tank installed part, and a tank cover opening/closing the tank installed part. The tank cover includes a nozzle, a nozzle operation part and a cover locking part. The nozzle flowing a waste ink is inserted in an inflow port in the waste ink tank. The nozzle operation part switches projecting and retracting of the nozzle to insert and retract the nozzle to the inflow port. The cover locking part switches locking and unlocking of closing of the tank cover. If the cover locking part is in a locking state and the nozzle is in a retracting state, the cover locking part can be switched to an unlocking state. If the cover locking part is in the locking state and the nozzle is in a projecting state, the cover locking part cannot be switched to the unlocking state.
