A system and method for bi-directional communication through capacitive coupling is achieved with capacitive plates within the environment of a wireless power transfer system. Data is transferred using capacitance over a separate path from the transfer of electrical power in the wireless power transfer system.

Modulation technique for near field communication

A novel concept for Near Field Communication (NFC) is described herein. In accordance with the embodiments described herein, orthogonal carrier signals are transmitted between NFC transmitter and NFC receiver circuit. In one arrangement, a carrier signal is unmodulated to ensure uninterrupted energy transfer to the receiver circuit. The orthogonal carriers are used to implement full-duplex Near Field Communication.

Magnetic alignment systems for electronic devices

A magnetic alignment system can include a primary annular magnetic alignment component and a secondary annular magnetic alignment component. The primary alignment component can include an inner annular region having a first magnetic orientation, an outer annular region having a second magnetic orientation opposite to the first magnetic orientation, and a non-magnetized central annular region disposed between the primary inner annular region and the primary outer annular region. The secondary alignment component can have a magnetic orientation with a radial component.

Speculative Activation for Secure Element Usage

If a secure element accesses a resource that is separate from the secure element, conducting a secure transaction can be inefficient in terms of power or time. Power usage is inefficient if the resource is never permitted to sleep, and transaction time is inefficient if the resource is permitted to sleep, and the user experiences a delay. To enable dual efficiency, a resource entity is permitted to be powered down. The resource entity is then powered up speculatively by an activation controller. The activation controller predicts an upcoming secure transaction based on sensor output, such as a position fix or a detected electromagnetic field. Based on monitored sensor output, the activation controller issues an activation signal to power up the secure element or the resource entity prior to initiation of the upcoming secure transaction. Thus, power can be conserved without introducing a transaction-processing latency.

Disclosed is a contactless connector, a signal processing method and a storage medium. The contactless connector can be in communication connection to a plug matched with the contactless connector. The plug is provided with a second magnetic core and a second coil, and the second coil is spirally arranged at the periphery of the second magnetic core and forms a secondary coil with the second magnetic core. The contactless connector includes: at least two plug interfaces, each of the plug interfaces including a first magnetic core; and a first coil, spirally arranged at an inner periphery of the first magnetic core of each of the plug interfaces and forming a main coil with the first magnetic core. When the contactless connector and a plurality of plugs are connected through at least two plug interfaces, the main coil and the secondary coil are electromagnetically coupled to realize communication connection between the contactless connector and the plurality of plugs. According to the present application, it can be achieved that the wiring difficulty between devices may be reduced while the service life of the connector is ensured.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISTINGUISHING BETWEEN ACTIVE AND PASSIVE NFC DEVICES

A near field communication (NFC) reader detects whether NFC devices are passive NFC devices or active NFC devices. The NFC reader outputs an interrogation signal and a carrier signal. When the NFC reader receives a response signal from an NFC device responsive to the interrogation signal, the NFC reader interrupts the carrier signal before the end of the response signal. The NFC reader determines whether the NFC device is a passive NFC device or an active NFC device depending on whether the response signal continues during the interruption of the interrogation signal.
