Reducing animal vehicle collisions

A driver alert system for an automobile includes a global positioning system adapted to monitor a location of an automobile, and a processor adapted to receive data from the global positioning system, receive data of historical wildlife position and migration habits within a pre-determined range from the automobile, calculate a distance from the automobile to an area of wildlife activity as indicated by the data of historical wildlife position and migration habits within the pre-determined range from the automobile, and provide an alert to a driver of the automobile when the data of historical wildlife position and migration habits indicates wildlife movement within the pre-determined range of the automobile and the automobile is within a triggering distance of such wildlife movement.

LEAD VEHICLE BRAKING WARNING SYSTEM

A lead vehicle braking warning system includes a speed sensor, a detector, a display and an electronic controller. The speed sensor measures current speed of a host vehicle. The detector detects current speed of a lead vehicle relative to the speed of the host vehicle. The display has a braking condition display area configured to display each of a plurality of braking conditions of the lead vehicle for the operator of the host vehicle. The electronic controller is in electronic communication with the speed sensor, the detector and the display. The electronic controller determines whether or not the lead vehicle is currently decelerating and determine which one of a plurality of braking conditions is currently being experienced by the lead vehicle and display information identifying the current one of the plurality of braking conditions of the lead vehicle within the braking condition display area of the display.

VEHICLE, NOTIFICATION SYSTEM, NOTIFICATION METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM STORED WITH A NOTIFICATION PROGRAM

A vehicle that is configured to: acquire information relating to a remaining charge of a battery of a terminal configured to act as a digital key employed in control of a vehicle; and perform a predetermined notification in response to both of a determination being made that the remaining charge of the battery of the terminal is a predetermined threshold or lower based on the acquired information, and the vehicle being in a preset vehicle state.

ROAD SIGN INFORMATION PRESENTATION

One embodiment provides a method, including: receiving, at an information handling device connected to a vehicle, an indication of a road sign in proximity to the vehicle; storing, subsequent to the capturing, information associated with the road sign in a data repository; identifying, by accessing a ruleset, a point at which to provide the information associated with the road sign to a user; and providing, responsive to the identifying and by accessing the data repository, the information to the user at the identified point. Other aspects are described and claimed.

VEHICLE BACKUP WARNING SYSTEMS

Aspects of the subject technology relate to a vehicle backup warning system. A rearview image is received from a rearview camera capturing images of an area behind an own vehicle. The rearview image is determined to include a plurality of white pixels each having a luminance value equal to or above a luminance threshold. Two or more white pixels within a first distance of one another are grouped from the plurality of white pixels. The rearview image is determined to include two groups of the two or more white pixels. A distance between centers of the two groups is determined to be equal to or less than a second distance of each other. The two groups are identified as a pair of illuminated backup lights of a vehicle in the area behind the own vehicle. A warning is provided to alert that the vehicle's intention to backup.

EMERGENCY VEHICLE ALERT SYSTEM
20220351617 · 2022-11-03 ·

An emergency vehicle alert system includes a traffic control device having a transceiver. The transceiver is configured to receive a first signal and to transmit a second signal. A receiver is configured to receive the second signal from the transceiver and to initiate an alert upon receiving the second signal from the transceiver. The first signal is transmitted to the transceiver from an emergency vehicle and causes the traffic control device to transition from a first configuration to a second configuration. The transceiver transmits the second signal in response to the transceiver receiving the first signal.

A fill control system on a harvester detects that a receiving vehicle is to be repositioned relative to the harvester. The fill control system generates a signal indicative of how the receiving vehicle is to be repositioned relative to the harvester. The harvester sends the signal to a mobile device that is remote from the harvester. A mobile device receives an indication from a fill control system on a harvester that indicates how a receiving vehicle is to be repositioned relative to the harvester. The mobile device controls a user interface mechanism to generate an output indicating how the receiving vehicle is to be repositioned relative to the harvester.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR THE CONTROL OF A VEHICLE BY AN OPERATOR

A method for the control of a vehicle by an operator. The method includes: using a predictive map to control the vehicle by: detecting a situation and/or location reference of the vehicle, transmitting data of a defined set of sensors, fusing and processing the data of the defined set of sensors; displaying the fused and processed data for the operator; creating/updating the predictive map by: recognizing a problematic situation and/or a problematic location by observation of the operator and/or marking by the operator, storing the problematic situation and/or the problematic location in a first database for storing problematic situations and locations, and training a model for selecting the defined set of sensors and fusing the data of the defined set of sensors by machine learning.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DETECTING A MACHINE OPERATOR

A technique is directed to methods and systems for detecting the presence of a machine operator. In some implementations, an operator presence system monitors a machine to determine whether an operator is present in an operating machine. The operator presence system collects input data from sensors or devices on the machine and determines whether the operator is in the operator seat. During operation, if an operator is determined to not be in the operator seat, the operator presence system can generate and send notifications (e.g., visual or audible warnings) to alert the operator to sit in the operator seat.

Apparatus and method for providing top view image of parking space

An apparatus and method for providing a top view image of a parking space are provided. The apparatus includes a steering angle sensor that measures a steering angle of a vehicle, a top view image generator that generates a top view image of a parking space depending on travel of the vehicle, a display that displays the top view image generated by the top view image generator, and a controller that captures the top view image displayed by the display and generates a panorama top view image by connecting the current top view image generated by the top view image generator and the captured previous top view image, based on the steering angle measured by the steering angle sensor.
