Vehicle Control System
The present invention addresses the problem that a host vehicle changes lanes and comes into contact with a following vehicle or causes the following vehicle to rapidly decelerate when the other vehicle rapidly approaches the host vehicle from outside a recognizable zone in the presence of another vehicle traveling in the lane to which the host vehicle is about to travel. Provided is a vehicle control system characterized in that a driver is notified that a lane change is not possible, the vehicle control system having: an external recognition means for detecting the lane markers of the lane in which the host vehicle is traveling and/or detecting another vehicle in the surrounding area of the host vehicle; a limit-distance calculation means for determining the detectable limit distance of the external recognition means; a relative-speed calculation means for calculating the speed relative to a hypothetical vehicle present outside the detectable limit distance when no other vehicle is present within the distance; and a required detection distance calculation means for determining the required detection distance of the external recognition means required for the host vehicle to change lanes on the basis of the relative speed.
Command for underground
A control system and related method for controlling the machine in a mine. The control system may comprise a LADAR, an interface device, a processor and an AECM. The LADAR may be configured to capture scan data of physical mine walls. The interface device may be configured to display a mine map illustrating a section of the mine. The processor may be configured to add a virtual wall to the mine map in response to a first user input. The processor may be configured to add a temporary wall to the mine map in response to a second user input. The temporary wall may be based on scan data of a physical mine wall captured by the LADAR. The AECM is configured to control an operation of the machine, based on the mine map, to avoid collision of the machine with the virtual wall or the temporary wall.
SYSTEM FOR CONNECTING IMPLEMENT TO MOBILE MACHINERY
An apparatus for connecting an implement to a three point hitch of mobile machinery comprises two frameworks, a first framework and a second framework. The first framework is disposed in a first plane and comprises at least two parallel, vertically-spaced apart, laterally extending rails. There are three attachments supported by the first framework for attachment to the three-point hitch. The second framework is slidable generally in the plane of the first framework and is mounted on the rails to slide laterally along the rails. At least two connectors are supported by the slidable second framework for connecting the second framework to an implement that can be pulled or pushed by the mobile machinery. A driver is connected to the first framework and connected to the second framework for driving the second framework laterally back and forth along the rails of the first framework.
VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE AND VEHICLE
Provided is a vehicle control device mounted on a vehicle including an environment recognition unit and an automatic operation control unit. The environment recognition unit is configured to acquire information on surrounding environment around the vehicle, and provide the automatic operation control unit with the information on the surrounding environment. The automatic operation control unit is configured to acquire select one proposed traveling line, as a target traveling line of the vehicle, from a plurality of proposed traveling lines, on a basis of the information on the surrounding environment, and allow the vehicle to travel along the target traveling line. The vehicle control device is configured to acquire provide display of an image of one or more non-selected traveling lines other than the proposed traveling line selected as the target traveling line from the plurality of proposed traveling lines, together with display of an image of the target traveling line.
MOVING BODY
A moving body (1) according to the invention includes: a drive unit (12); a control unit (exemplified by a drive control unit (11) and a speed instruction unit (10b)) that controls driving by the drive unit (12); an object recognition unit (13) that recognizes an object; and a determination unit (exemplified by a degree-of-risk determination unit (10a)) that, in accordance with a recognition result by the object recognition unit (13), determines a degree of risk of collision with the object. In a case where determination is made as being risky by the determination unit, the control unit performs control of reducing a target speed of the moving body (1), and returns the target speed of the moving body (1) to the original one, in a case where determination is made as being safe by the determination unit for a predetermined period in a state where the target speed has been reduced.
Consideration of risks in active sensing for an autonomous vehicle
An autonomous vehicle configured for active sensing may also be configured to weigh expected information gains from active-sensing actions against risk costs associated with the active-sensing actions. An example method involves: (a) receiving information from one or more sensors of an autonomous vehicle, (b) determining a risk-cost framework that indicates risk costs across a range of degrees to which an active-sensing action can be performed, wherein the active-sensing action comprises an action that is performable by the autonomous vehicle to potentially improve the information upon which at least one of the control processes for the autonomous vehicle is based, (c) determining an information-improvement expectation framework across the range of degrees to which the active-sensing action can be performed, and (d) applying the risk-cost framework and the information-improvement expectation framework to determine a degree to which the active-sensing action should be performed.
Vehicle, vehicle system and method for increasing safety and/or comfort during autonomous driving
A vehicle, vehicle system and method for increasing at least one of safety and comfort during autonomous driving is provided. The vehicle system includes an autonomous drive arrangement with multiple sensors, a vehicle control arrangement and a positioning system. The vehicle system is configured to determine an estimated probability that at least one sensor will become unavailable, or an estimated time/distance ahead until at least one sensor is determined to become unavailable. The vehicle system is further configured to activate at least one countermeasure based on at least one of the estimated probability, the estimated time and the estimated distance.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS EMULATING AUTOMOBILE MOVEMENT
A system, including: a non-transitory memory; and one or more hardware processors coupled to the non-transitory memory and configured to read instructions from the non-transitory memory to cause the system to perform operations including: detecting a first automobile; determining that the first automobile is a self-driving automobile; and in response to determining that the first automobile is a self-driving automobile, causing a second automobile to emulate a motion of the first automobile.
DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF
Disclosed is a driver assistance system including a first processor that receives a radar signal from a radar and detects one or more first objects based on the radar signal, a second processor that receives a camera signal from a camera and detects one or more second objects based on the camera signal, a laser controller that controls a beam generator to radiate the laser beam, a segmentation unit that extracts one or more first segments and one or more second segments corresponding to the one or more second objects, a mapping unit that maps at least one of the first segments and at least one of the second segments, a classification unit that classifies a target object based on an image signal and determines a possibility of collision with the target object, and a vehicle controller that controls a vehicle drive device based on the possibility of collision.
Driving support apparatus
A driving support apparatus supports driving of the vehicle. The driving support apparatus includes a brake pedal detection unit, a retraction speed calculation unit and a driving operation device setting unit. The brake pedal detection unit detects an operation amount of the brake pedal. The retraction speed calculation unit calculates a retraction speed of the brake pedal, based on the operation amount of the brake pedal detected by the brake pedal detection unit. The driving operation device setting unit sets a reaction force exerted by a driving operation device to a larger value as the retraction speed calculated by the retraction speed calculation unit becomes higher.
