Switch device
A switch device includes a switch body, which is arranged at the back side of a steering unit, and a lever unit, which is attached to the switch body to allow for switching by a pivotal operation about a first axis, which extends in the axial direction of a steering shaft. The lever unit includes a lever shaft, which extends in a direction intersecting the first axis of the pivotal operation, a lever head, which is arranged at the distal end of the lever shaft and has a larger dimension than the diameter of the lever shaft, and a push operation unit, which allows for switching by a push operation. The push operation unit is arranged so that the operation direction of the push operation is directed toward the first axis.
Methods and devices for hand-on-wheel gesture interaction for controls
Methods, devices, and processor-readable media for hand-on-wheel gesture controls are described. A steering wheel is virtually segmented into a plurality of radial segments. Each segment is assigned a semantic meaning. Control commands related to control functions are mapped to different virtual segments of the steering wheel. When a user performs a gesture on the steering wheel, the system recognizes the gesture and selects a control function based on the location of the hand relative to the steering wheel. In various embodiments, on-wheel hand gestures, on-wheel hand location, and voice commands may be used in various combinations to enable a user to perform a wide selection of functions using a small number of unique commands.
DRIVER DETECTION STEERING WHEEL
Example systems and methods for a driver detection steering wheel are disclosed. An example disclosed vehicle includes a steering wheel, a driver, a detector, and an enabling module. The example steering wheel includes a plurality of capacitive sensors. The example driver is to change voltage levels on the plurality of capacitive sensors. The example detector is to measure time delays corresponding to the plurality of capacitive sensors, and determine a number of hands on the steering wheel based on the time delays. The example enabling module is to, in response to the detector detecting two hands on the steering wheel, grant access to an infotainment system.
INPUT DEVICE WITH VERIFICATION OF TOUCH OR ACTIVATION
An input device includes an input surface, at least one first detector which detects a touch and/or an activation of the input surface, a second detector which includes a detection range which covers the input surface, and an evaluation unit. The second detector detects a no-touch of the input surface. The evaluation device assigns a switching or control function to the at least one of the touch and the activation of the input surface upon the detection of the at least one of the touch and the activation by the first detector. The evaluation unit excludes the assignment of the switching or control function upon detecting the no-touch by the second detector.

A vehicle is provided with a button that is depressed by a driver at any time for inputting intention information indicating an intention of approving a condition or an intention of rejecting the condition. The intention information inputted by the depressing operation of the button is transmitted to an information providing center. The intention information is transmitted together with position information indicating a point where the button is depressed and time information indicating a time. In the center, a server provides related information related to the transmitted intention information as a feedback. The server also supposes the reason why the transmitted intention information is inputted, and transmits the supposed reason to a closed SNS or an open SNS with a response form. The server then determines a reason of input based upon a response in accordance with the response form, and accumulates the determined reason in an information storage section so as to be retrievable in association with the intention information.
VEHICLES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR CHANGING A VEHICLE DRIVING MODE
In one embodiment, a vehicle includes a steering wheel, one or more vehicle drive systems, one or more driving mode paddler shifters coupled to the steering wheel, an output device, and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is communicatively coupled to the one or more driving mode paddle shifters, the one or more vehicle drive systems, and the output device. The electronic control unit is configured to receive a drive mode shifting signal from the one or more driving mode paddle shifter indicative of a desire to change a driving mode of the vehicle, change one or more parameters of the one or more vehicle drive systems in order to change the driving mode in response to the driving mode shifting signal, and provide a notification related to the change in the driving mode with the output device.
